A photo of a padapuja at an ashram. A man in an orange turban, orange garments and a red and yellow flower garland sits on an ornate golden throne with lion-head armrests and floral garlands, his bare feet extended over a tray. Gold ornaments and a gold bracelet adorn him. Around the throne, a boy in a white shirt, a girl in gold-embroidered green and red clothing, a woman in a blue sari with folded hands, and a man in white wearing a rudraksha mala pour water and offer flowers and oil lamps from silver plates and bowls on a floor tray. A brass lamp hangs above and a camera on a tripod and studio lights stand at left.A seated figure in an orange-saffron robe and orange turban sits on an ornate gold throne carved with a lion head, draped with a long red and yellow marigold garland, a gold necklace and an arm band. Around the throne, colourful flower arrangements in red, yellow, purple and white decorate the backdrop. Below, several devotees sit on the floor around silver plates and bowls of flowers and offerings during a pada puja; one man in white in the foreground pours from a vessel, a woman in a blue sari presses her hands together, and a young boy in gold clothes sits near a man with a rudraksha mala. A brass oil lamp stands on the right, and a studio light and camera tripod are visible at left. Rows of silver offering vessels fill the foreground.2013-01-01A photograph of a puja at an ashram hall. A man with a swept-back hairstyle and a saffron-orange turban sits on an ornate gold throne draped with red, yellow, purple and orange flower garlands, wearing a saffron-orange wrap, a red garland and gold necklaces, and holding a white fan-like object. The swami is probable from appearance cues including the saffron turban, ornate gold necklaces and garlands. Several devotees sit on the floor in front of him: a man in white with a rudraksha mala and a woman in purple sari handle brass thalis of flowers, fruit and offerings. Behind, a studio light and camera on a tripod, a small oil lamp on a stand, and a seated figure in orange on the right background.2013-01-01A seated man in an ornate golden throne wears a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl with a cream-and-gold floral garland, bare chest and bare feet resting on a silver tray of flowers and small lit oil lamps. A probable Swamiji candidate: long swept-back hair, ceremonial gold ornaments and orange-saffron ceremonial clothing, seated on a gilded peetha with a tiger-striped cloth. Around him, devotees in white clothes with orange lanyards kneel and tend the offerings: one man in white holds a tray, a woman in white pours or arranges items, and another woman in white with a red bindi sits at the right edge. Brass bells and hanging lamps hang above, with a black wall and a wall-mounted air conditioner behind. The scene reads as a ritual padapuja with lamps and flower offerings.2013-05-16January 1st 2013A photograph of a padapuja ritual in an indoor hall with dark walls and a studio light on a tripod. A seated figure on a gold-decorated throne with orange cushions wears an orange-red turban, an orange robe, a red-and-yellow marigold and rose garland, a rudraksha mala and gold necklaces, and holds a white fan-like object. Around him, several devotees sit on the floor with brass plates of flowers and offerings, and a man in white with a rudraksha mala pours or places offerings at the feet. A woman in a purple sari and a young person in gold attire are among the devotees. Oil lamps stand on a side table behind the throne.A photograph of a seated man in a red-maroon wrap and red turban on an ornate gold throne carved with lion heads, draped with a tiger-stripe cloth. He wears beaded necklaces, bangles and a white tilak. Women in orange and saffron saris kneel below, offering silver trays of flowers and items. Brass oil lamps and hanging bells surround the throne, and an orange cloth backdrop hangs behind. A camera on a tripod stands at left. The setting is a ritual puja or satsang in a dark stone-walled hall.2014-02-11A seated man in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, with a rudraksha-style bead garland and a gold armband, sits on an ornate gold throne carved with a lion-like guardian figure. Hanging brass bells and a lamp frame the throne against a black wall. Before him, several people in white and orange-red garments with white forehead markings sit with brass plates of flowers, pink and yellow blossoms and fruit, and small bowls, performing a ritual offering. A large yellow-painted door stands at left. The scene appears to be a satsang or ritual puja. Swamiji (probable): the seated figure has long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and a rudraksha-bead garland, so an in-person candidate is present.2013-05-28July 22 20132013-07-22July 19 20122012-07-19January 01 20132013-01-01July 17 20082008-07-17
