November 29 20112011-11-29A photograph of a temple ritual in progress. In the centre, a person in orange robes and a saffron shawl, with a white and red flower garland and long dark hair, reaches out with one hand to touch a large gleaming golden kalasha or pot adorned with yellow, purple and white marigold and jasmine garlands. A second person in orange robes and a rudraksha-style necklace at left holds a silver tray of offerings. Behind them, brass oil lamps stand near a railing, and a deity murti draped in teal and red silk is visible at right. The setting appears to be an outdoor temple courtyard with a white corrugated roof structure behind.2009-12-27March 03 20112011-03-03December 11 20112011-12-11March 03 20112011-03-03March 03 20112011-03-03A temple ritual inside a shrine with a large golden deity murti seated on a purple cloth, draped in orange silk and wrapped in fresh garlands of marigolds and red, purple and white flowers. In the centre, a man in orange robes and a black head covering with a gold crown-like headpiece bends forward, his hands touching the deity's gold base and offering. Beside him, a younger man in orange with a gold-bead necklace holds a brass tray of yellow flowers. A white-draped table with scattered petals stands at right, with a red-and-white wall behind. Swamiji (probable) is the central figure in orange robes with rudraksha-style necklaces and a crown, performing abhishekam-style offering before the murti.2010-12-27March 03 20112011-03-03A temple ritual scene with a man in saffron-orange robes wearing a long white and red flower garland and a gold-beaded necklace, a red bindi and white tilak on his forehead, and bangles on his wrists; he holds white petals in one hand while another man in orange dhoti and shawl with white tilak carries a gold tray. Behind them stand a large deity murti and a tall multicoloured flower garland of red, yellow, green and purple blooms, with a gold hand-gesture sculpture above. Carved stone pillars frame the temple hall. Candidate appearance is a long-haired figure with several cues but this is uncertain, so the central man is described by role as a devotee performing an offering.2011-12-11A photograph inside a temple shrine showing a standing figure in saffron-orange robes with a gold necklace and a gold headband, looking down toward a seated golden-bodied murti dressed in orange with gold jewellery and a crown. The seated murti is framed by garlands of marigolds and white flowers in yellow, red, purple and white. In the foreground a priest in saffron robes and a gold necklace holds a gold plate of offerings near the murti, and a second man in white stands behind him. Flower petals are scattered on the platform and a purple cloth covers the base. The standing figure has long hair and distinctive gold adornments, which matches the a person appearance cues.2010-12-27A temple puja scene at a deity murti adorned with thick garlands of yellow marigolds, green leaves and purple flowers, and white jasmine strands. Two priests in saffron-orange robes stand at the left and center; the central figure leans forward, reaching toward a tall golden kalasha-style vessel placed before the deity. The left priest, wearing a rudraksha mala, holds a brass tray with offerings. The deity wears a red crown, gold jewellery and a blue sari-like cloth, and a white and orange small murti sits in front. Golden lamps and a golden peetha frame the scene, with a stone pillared temple corridor behind. A printed copyright line appears at the right.2009-12-27March 03 20112011-03-03 +1 copies
