September 23 20062006-09-23A photograph of a long-haired man in a loose orange-saffron robe standing under a thatched bamboo-roofed shelter on a reddish dirt ground, holding a thin wooden staff in his right hand and looking off to his left. Beside him a printed poster labelled "Dhyanapeetam" shows a portrait of a figure wearing a red-orange turban and ornate beaded necklaces, captioned with the Tamil name for Paramahamsa Nithyananda. A man in a white dhoti and shirt stands at the right edge, partly visible. Green trees, scattered rocks and a town spread out below in the background.2006-09-23Outdoor construction site beside a thatched-roof open shelter with a wooden frame and cement-block walls under construction. A woman with long dark hair in a saffron-orange sari-style wrap stands at center, hands at her sides, walking on bare dirt. Behind her, several men in orange garments and white dhotis walk along the site, including a man in a white shirt and white dhoti. Some carry tall thin poles with small orange flags. A large portrait photograph on a teal background is mounted on a pillar, showing an elderly person in a white head covering and white garments. Trees and a rocky outcrop are in the background. Five to six people are visible.2006-09-16A photograph taken under a thatched bamboo-pole shelter with an open red-earth floor and a plain whitewashed wall behind. A long-haired figure in a saffron-orange shawl and orange garment walks barefoot across the earth, holding a wooden staff. Beside them, two men in white dhotis and white shirts walk and talk; one gestures with an open hand. Several other men stand in the background, including one in a white shirt with an orange shawl and another in a checked lungi, with a small child in a striped shirt at right. Trees and cloudy sky are visible beyond the shelter. Whether the saffron-clad figure is a person cannot be confirmed from appearance; the long swept-back hair and saffron clothing are present but the figure is only partly distinct, so the candidate is marked unsure.2006-09-23February 15 20072007-02-15September 16 20062006-09-16A procession of devotees in white dhotis and kurtas, several with orange shawls, walks across a dusty open ground in front of a white-walled tent structure. A large framed portrait on a stand shows a smiling man in an orange turban and orange robe; a second framed print shows a seated figure in orange. A tall man in an orange robe with a white flower garland and a walking staff leads the group, and an orange flag with a blue emblem is held aloft. A decorated ceremonial canopy with a colourful top is visible in the background, and a stone sculpture stands at the right edge.2007-02-24September 19 20062006-09-19September 20 20062006-09-20Outdoor photograph at dusk of a group walking along a red-earth path between leafy trees toward a thatched-roof shed with a small temple gopuram behind it. In the centre, a smiling person with long dark hair wears a saffron-orange robe and walks barefoot; a bearded man in a white shirt and white dhoti walks beside them. Several men in white and checked shirts follow behind, one wearing a white dhoti with an orange border and a neck garland.2006-09-23February 15 20072007-02-15Outdoor procession on a dirt path at an ashram with thatched-roof huts and orange flags on poles. A central figure in long dark hair wears a flowing orange robe with gold-edged border and a dark rudraksha mala, walking barefoot in front. Around him, men in white shirts and white dhotis wear orange shawls and walk barefoot in a group, one man in a white kurta with a rudraksha-style necklace and dark bead mala. A blank white screen stands behind the thatched stall and bicycles are parked nearby. Appearance-based candidate for Swamiji (probable) is the central robed figure in orange with long hair and rudraksha mala, walking at the front of the procession.2008-08-03
