October 04 20112011-10-04A photograph of a puja set up outdoors beside a red and gold throne-style chair bearing a framed portrait of a smiling figure in saffron robes and a garland, seated on a cushion before a banyan tree trunk, with a hand raised in blessing. In the foreground a young girl in a gold-and-orange silk shawl sits on a chair with pink fabric, facing the offerings. A man in white dhoti with a gold-bordered shawl sits cross-legged on the floor, palms joined in namaskar, head bowed. Brass plates, small bowls, a brass lamp, banana, flowers, and a wooden shield-shaped board sit on a low table, with smoke rising from the offerings.2011-10-04A girl in a gold-bordered orange-brown silk sari sits on a dark wooden chair under an open pavilion while a shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and shawl with a gold border kneels before her and washes or anoints her feet over a brass plate with a bowl and small vessels. Behind them a framed portrait labelled "Paramahamsa Nithyananda" shows a figure in orange robes with a white flower garland seated before a banyan trunk, displayed on a red throne-like armchair with gold trim. A decorated deity murti with a crown and garland stands at left, with a brass oil lamp and potted tropical plants nearby; a red-and-white striped wall and palm trees fill the background.2011-10-04A photograph of a ritual scene in an open-sided courtyard with palm and banana plants behind. A portrait of a saffron-robed man with long dark hair, seated in meditation with a raised hand and a long beaded necklace, is displayed on a red and gold throne-like chair with flowers placed before it. A young girl in a gold and orange shawl sits on a wooden seat facing a shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and shawl with a gold-bordered cloth, who sits with palms joined. Brass plates with fruit, bananas, small bowls and a lamp stand on a mat in front, and a painted deity murti with a crown and garland stands at the left. The portrait is a printed depiction, not a physical person.2011-10-04July 07 20122012-07-07Padapuja ritual in a yellow-draped hall. A man in saffron robes, with a white and red flower garland, rudraksha mala and a red tilak, sits on an ornate gold throne with carved lion armrests and is seated on a gold foot-stool. A devotee in a white dhoti and orange shawl kneels before him, touching his feet with offerings, as women in white saris with yellow shawls stand behind holding brass plates. Bowls of offerings and flowers lie on the floor and on a side shelf, and the throne is set against gold curtains. The man on the throne is a person by appearance cues: saffron robes, rudraksha mala and garland, with the page noting his presence.2009-09-07 +1 copiesJune 23 20132013-06-23August 09 20092009-08-09June 27 20142014-06-27August 09 20092009-08-09August 09 20092009-08-09December 20 20152015-12-20
