A close photograph of an aarti lamp held aloft by two hands at the lower edge of the frame. A tall flame rises from a brass camphor lamp with a cup-shaped bowl and a handle, set against a dark backdrop. To the left, a blurred gold deity murti or ornament sits beside a garland of red and white flowers. Behind, a blurred red and dark screen with coloured panels. No faces are visible, and the scene suggests an aarti offering during a satsang.

A young man in orange saffron cloth and a dark wrapped turban performs aarti before a decorated deity murti. He holds a brass aarti lamp with a flame in one hand and a handbell in the other. His bare upper body shows beaded bracelets and armlets, and he wears rudraksha malas around his neck. Behind him, the deity murti is adorned with garlands of pink, yellow and white flowers on a silver pedestal. The setting is a temple-style shrine in a plain room.

A hand holds a brass double-tiered aarti lamp with a bright open flame and smoke rising against a dark background. The lamp is raised in front of a decorated altar with garlands of red, pink, yellow and white flowers and sparkling bead-work arches. Only a hand and forearm are visible, so the performer is not shown; the scene is an evening aarti offering before a deity murti.

A photograph of a ritual in a dim room with a red curtain at left. A bare-chested man with dark hair tied up and beaded bracelets on his wrist holds a lit oil lamp or camphor flame high with his right arm, gazing upward. Beside him stands a large painted deity murti with a red and white face, a tilak and a silver crown decorated with marigold garlands, a purple flower garland at right, and a smaller bronze figure in the background. An air conditioning unit is visible on the wall.

A close photograph of a priest performing aarti with a bronze oil lamp held aloft in his right hand, its flame rising high and smoky against a plain wall. The man wears a black head wrap or turban and has a white marking on his forehead; his face is turned downward toward the flame. Red kumkum or vermilion is visible on his fingers. A small wall-mounted air vent is visible behind his hand. Only one person is visible.

A photograph of a young man performing a ritual with a brass oil lamp held in both hands, its flame burning upward with a wisp of smoke. He is bare-chested, wearing a white sacred thread, a rudraksha mala of brown beads, and white ash markings on his forehead and arms. His eyes are closed and he appears absorbed in the act. Behind him, slightly out of focus, a portrait of a smiling man in red and saffron robes with a red turban is displayed, and to the right is an ornate gold deity murti on a decorated altar with red and gold fabrics. The scene is a temple or ashram shrine setting.

A photograph taken in darkness of a lit oil lamp on a silver ornamental stand with scrolled arms, held up against a black background. The flame flickers above a metal cup, and a wisp of smoke rises beside it. Below, a figure's hand grips the stand, which is wrapped with an orange and gold cloth with fringed edges. No face or body is clearly visible, and no other people are seen. The scene suggests a night ritual lamp, such as an aarti or homa lamp, but no specific event is shown.

Close-up photograph of a hand holding a silver oil lamp (deepam) with a lit flame, while a wick is being touched or adjusted at its base. The wearer's wrist shows black and red threads and a strand of rudraksha beads, and the hand has a faint tattoo. The background is blurred warm reddish-brown. Only a hand and forearm are visible; no face appears. Aarti-style lamp offering.
