August 01 20082008-08-01Dusk outdoor gathering: a dense crowd of many hundreds of devotees fills the foreground, most dressed in white with saffron/orange shawls and sashes. Across the open ground, rows of white-clad figures stand before a raised stage and a decorated canopy under a dark, stormy sky, lit by floodlights and a string of small lights. Saffron flags on poles and a tall pole at right frame the scene; the crowd appears to be listening or facing the stage. No single person can be clearly identified as the a person from this distance.2008-08-01August 01 20082008-08-01An outdoor evening gathering at a temple-like complex with flags on a rooftop and string lights in the trees. Many people in white traditional clothes, mostly men and women with hands joined in namaskar, stand in rows facing a lit stage area. Two figures in saffron/orange robes stand near the front of the crowd on the sandy ground, with yellow flower petals scattered nearby. A tall ceremonial pole rises at left beside palm trees, and a multicoloured canopy umbrella shelters a decorated area at right, with a few devotees in yellow-bordered white garments.
