A festive procession on a stone-paved path under many decorated umbrellas in red, pink, orange and multicolour with mirror-work edges. At centre, a man in a rust-red dhoti and a white flower garland, wearing a red turban and a gold necklace, holds a trident-topped staff and walks with attendants in saffron and orange robes. Women in orange, pink and green saris and jewellery dance along one side, while bare-chested men with white body markings and orange lower cloths, and a child in white, stand in the crowd. A tall ceremonial umbrella rises in the background. The centre figure has a wrapped turban and garland, and the printed caption on the photo reads Nithyananda Paramashivam, but his face and appearance are not sufficiently distinctive to confirm identity.2016-12-03A procession of devotees walks barefoot along a paved covered walkway, carrying colourful decorative umbrellas on long poles in pink, orange, purple and maroon. A man in a maroon robe wears a long white flower garland and walks at the front. Many people wear white kurtas, dhotis and saris, with red garlands around their necks, while women in orange saris and dark robes walk nearby. A man on the left wears an orange dhoti and carries a long pole, and a figure in orange holds a fan-like object. Trees and a red building stand in the background under a sloped roof.2016-09-26October 08 20162016-10-08Outdoor procession on wet concrete under palm trees, with coconut palms behind. A man in the centre-left wears a rust-brown garment, a red-and-white garland, gold necklaces and a tall dark hairstyle, walking on a pale runner. Around him, men in white dhotis with gold borders carry long staffs, ornate umbrellas and a lidded brass offering vessel. Behind them, drummers in orange cloth play drums, and women in orange saris and rudraksha malas stand at the right. Bright yellow, green and multicoloured parasols and red flags are raised overhead. The people appear to be a ceremonial procession; the central figure's identity is not established by appearance alone.2016-07-19Outdoor procession on a rocky path beneath large trees. At centre, a man with long dark hair, a white forehead mark and a red-brown saffron-toned cloth wrap walks forward wearing a heavy gold necklace with a large gold pendant and gold bangles; he is the probable Swamiji by appearance cues of long swept hair, ornate gold jewellery and saffron clothing, and is walking in front of a ceremonial multicoloured fringed umbrella held aloft by an attendant in white. Behind him, white-clad men with bare upper bodies, rudraksha malas and gold-trimmed white dhotis carry and attend, one holds a red umbrella. On the left, women in green and orange saris and men in white kurtas stand with palms pressed together in greeting along a low stone border.2016-08-02July 19 20162016-07-19August 16 20172017-08-16 +2 copiesDecember 24 20092009-12-24July 19 20162016-07-19A procession moves along a dirt path lined with palm trees while large ornate parasols in red, orange and white with fringed edges are held overhead.
