Behind the fire pit, a deity murti rests on a teal and gold pedestal with a carved cobra hood above it, draped with yellow and white marigold garlands. Flames rise from a yellow-tinted fire pit covered with yellow flowers and a purple blossom, with smoke drifting upward. Brass pots, cups, oil lamps and a basket of flowers sit on the ground. Striped red and white steps appear at the top of the frame. A homa or yagna is being performed.

A homa fire ritual at an altar. A person's arm, wearing red-and-black thread and bangles, holds a long-handled metal ladle pouring offerings into a copper bowl beside a wooden fire pit with bright orange flames. A night-time fire ritual at a temple shrine. On the left, a seated priest in white dhoti and rudraksha mala holds a lit oil lamp (aarti) in his right hand, with white sacred ash marks on his arm. Before him a wooden platform holds a homa fire of burning sticks, a silver bowl, a silver ladle, a small lamp and brass pots. Behind them a deity murti stands garlanded with yellow and orange flowers beside guardian lion figures on a blue-and-yellow pedestal, with smoke rising. Walls are striped white and maroon.

A homa fire ritual at an outdoor altar. A priest in white clothing, with a red-and-black thread and metal bangles on his wrist, pours liquid from a brass ladle into a sunken fire pit where flames rise. Brass bowls, small silver vessels and yellow and purple flowers surround the altar. Behind it stands a colourful deity murti with a multi-headed cobra hood, and smoke drifts upward. No person's face is visible enough to assess presence of a person, and the scene shows only the priest's hands and white-clad body.

Close photo of a homa fire pit built from stacked yellow-ochre bricks, with a tall flame rising from the top brick. Around it on a white cloth sit silver ritual vessels: a small silver bowl, a silver kalasha-style vessel, a silver lamp stand with a small oil lamp, and a silver-handled ladle or spoon. Grass or kusha stalks lie at the left. A partial hand in an orange sleeve appears at the far left and a red cloth at the right edge. In the blurred background are a striped red, yellow and blue wall hanging and a golden deity or altar decoration with green and gold draping. No faces are visible. This is a homa/yagna setting.

A homa fire ritual in a temple setting. A fire burns in a rectangular yellow-painted fire pit lined with yellow and purple flowers. A hand wearing bangles and a dark bracelet holds a long silver ladle and pours an offering, while a steel bowl of cooked rice and a copper bowl sit nearby. Behind the pit stands a deity murti decorated with a blue and gold multi-headed serpent hood, flowers and a garland, with a blue altar platform and red-and-white striped steps in the background. Only a partial arm and a sliver of white-clad person are visible, so the count is one. No individual is clearly identifiable as a person.
