A tall polished copper-gold dhwaja-style lamp pillar with an ornate base carved with figures stands in the foreground. A man in an orange-saffron dhoti with a gold-toned upper cloth, a red-and-white flower garland, gold necklace and gold armlets holds a lit oil lamp flame in one hand and a small bell or cup in the other, facing the pillar. Beside him, a shaved-headed attendant in orange robes holds a metal plate. A camera operator with a video camera films in the lower foreground. Several monks in orange and red robes stand in a row at the left, and palm trees line the background against a dark sky.2014-01-01February 06 20142014-02-06November 12 20102010-11-12 +1 copiesDecember 14 20162016-12-14Photograph at dusk of a dhvajarohanam flag-hoisting at a temple-style setting. Two monks in orange robes stand at its base pulling an orange rope to raise or secure the pole; the nearer one wears a red-orange garment and beads, the other a saffron-orange shawl with a maroon border. A carved wooden or stone base with a seated figure panel supports the pole. A camera operator at lower left films the scene, and palm trees frame the right side under a canopy roof.2010-10-18November 14 20182018-11-14
