April 03 20122012-04-03A photograph of a man in white ritual dress bending forward at a stone shrine, pressing his forehead and hand against the carved stone base. He wears a white dhoti and a white shawl with striped brown-and-gold borders, with rudraksha beads at his neck and wrists. Garlands of yellow marigolds and white flowers hang on a deity murti at left, which wears gold ornaments and jewelled adornments. A carved stone pillar and a woven mat stand behind him, with a yellow patterned cloth on the floor. The scene reads as devotional worship at a temple.2012-04-03A seated person in a rust-red robe with gold border sits with palms pressed together in namaskar beside a flower-covered altar, with a silver bowl at the lower left. Behind a large mound of white jasmine and pink flowers, a golden-framed shrine holds three deity murtis on a yellow satin cloth, a central standing figure in white and gold dhoti with a jeweled crown and two standing companions in red and gold, all draped in garlands. Rose petals are scattered on the floor, and a rudraksha mala hangs from the seated person's neck. The seated person's face is not clearly visible in this photo, and whether they are a person is uncertain from appearance alone.2014-06-30February 23 20152015-02-23 +1 copiesJune 29 20142014-06-29 +2 copiesA devotee in an orange dhoti and orange sleeveless top bends forward at left, pressing both hands and forehead against a tall gold-coloured pillar of a shrine. Behind him, a gold-framed arch hung with yellow, red and purple marigold garlands frames a deity murti pair seated on a white bull-shaped vehicle: one figure wears an orange turban and jewelled necklaces, the other wears a crown, blue silk sari and a pink blouse. A small white seated statue in orange cloth with a garland sits in front. Brass and gold puja vessels, a brass lamp stand and a silver-lidded bowl lie on the platform in the foreground. The scene appears to be a temple puja at a shrine.2009-12-27A seated person in a deep red and gold robe with rudraksha malas and a bare upper body performs namaste before an altar of three deity murtis under heavy garlands of white jasmine and pink and red flowers. The central murti wears a white and gold dhoti, a tall crowned headdress and ornate necklaces; flanking murtis are dressed in red and gold with jewelled crowns. A gold-coloured cloth covers the platform, and a flower-heaped mound sits in front. A silver vessel is held at the lower left edge. Visible people: one seated devotee, with a partially visible second person at the edge.2014-06-30Photograph inside a shrine niche showing a deity murti of Lord Muruga flanked by two consort statues, all adorned with floral garlands in pink, white and deep red and jewelled ornaments. The central murti stands in white and gold dhoti with a jewelled crown. A kneeling person in a red-brown garment and rudraksha-style neck beads sits at left with palms pressed together in prayer, bent forward in devotion. A brass lamp stands at right, and a golden silk cloth covers the altar base where a gold-covered vessel and garlanded objects are placed. Pink flower petals are scattered on the floor. Pale blue ceiling and maroon wall frame the scene.2014-06-29 +1 copiesDecember 14 20162016-12-14A seated man in an orange-red dhoti and shawl, wearing rudraksha malas and bangles, garlands a spatika linga draped in white jasmine and red-pink flower garlands. Behind him, three gilded deity murtis stand against a golden arch, decked in garlands, jewellery and crowns, with a yellow silk cloth beneath them. A second person in orange at lower left holds a silver bowl of petals. The seated man has distinctive rudraksha malas and orange clothing but his face is not clearly visible enough to establish identity, so the a person field is set to unsure. Floor scattered with petals.2014-06-30April 01 20122012-04-01February 23 20152015-02-23 +1 copies
