A photograph of a devotee kneeling on sandy ground and pouring water over the bare feet of a person in an orange saffron garment. The kneeling devotee wears white dhoti and shirt with a gold-bordered cloth, and holds a brass vessel. Around them, other people in white dhotis stand barefoot on sandy earth beside a concrete edge. The scene suggests a foot-washing gesture of reverence. Water splashes across the dusty ground.February 16 20092009-02-16December 23 20072007-12-23February 16 20092009-02-16December 23 20072007-12-23December 31 20082008-12-31December 30 20182018-12-30 +1 copiesA blurred, close overhead photograph of an outdoor ritual setting with a stone or concrete floor. A younger attendant in white clothing with an orange shawl kneels at centre, leaning over a small square ornate tile or slab with a blue and gold patterned border. Other people in white clothes with orange shawls stand at left and right edges, partly cropped. A long-haired man in orange robes with a red forehead mark sits cross-legged on a small patterned mat, arms folded, looking up at the camera. Around him, several men in white dhotis and kurtas with orange shoulder cloths stand and crouch, some with hands in a wet, dark mortar or clay pit in the foreground. A red-bordered dhoti and bare feet are visible at the top edge. The scene suggests a ritual preparation of the sanctum, with the mortar pit as the focus of activity.2006-12-11December 12 20162016-12-12 +1 copiesFebruary 14 20072007-02-14
