A night photograph of an illuminated outdoor shrine decorated for Karthikai Deepam. A row of oil lamps lines the stone platform and its edges. Strands of marigold and red flower garlands hang from the arched canopy over a central deity murti, dressed in a blue and magenta skirt and garland-draped with a crown-like headdress. Beside it stands a ceremonial lamp stand and a white draped figure resembling a statue, with a pale puff-shaped decoration. Red curtains frame the pillared structure, and a metal ladder rests at the front. No living people are visible.

A photograph taken at night of an illuminated stone shrine stage decorated for Karthikai Deepam. Rows of oil lamps line the platform edge and steps. A large deity murti in a blue and magenta skirt, with a gold-coloured headdress and garlands of yellow and red flowers, stands at the back of the shrine. Flower garlands hang from the arched canopy above. A standing woman in a cream and orange sari with a long grey braid faces the shrine at the right. A white-clad figure with blue cloth sits near a brass lamp stand and garlanded offerings. No swami figure is clearly visible.

A night photograph of an illuminated outdoor shrine lit by warm lamps, with strings of marigold and red garlands draped along its roof edges and pillars. Inside the shrine, a seated deity murti decorated with flowers and a pink-and-gold skirt sits on a raised platform. To the right, a man in a white dhoti and orange-red shawl stands beside the shrine, one hand raised near the carved pillar. Red cloth hangs from the roof corners, and a small ladder leans against the platform.

A photograph of a temple shrine on a stone-pillared open platform. Two deity murtis stand under a golden arch, one draped with marigold garlands and a red-and-gold cloth; one figure wears a blue and pink garment. Brass oil lamps and a brass kalasha-style lamp stand on the granite ledge in front, with flower garlands and offering plates nearby. Pink curtains frame the sides. Two partly visible people in white and blue clothing sit at the right edge near the platform, tending the offerings. The scene suggests a puja or abhishekam setting, with brass lamps lit and garlands arranged.

Ornate temple shrine lit by warm lamps. Two large metallic deity murtis stand in a gold-framed arch, one with a crown and raised hand holding an object, the other with a jeweled headdress, both draped in pink and red satin garments and marigold garlands. In front, a white-draped altar holds a brass oil lamp with a flame and additional lamps, with a fly whisk on the left. At right edge, a small figure in a red-and-white outfit with a garland sits with hands folded in a seated pose, and a person in orange robes is partially visible.

Night photograph of a Navaratri celebration in an open-sided shrine hall at Aadikailaasa, Bengaluru, lit by strings of small multicoloured bulbs and a few spotlights. Two women in white saris stand at the shrine: one raises a lamp or arm toward the deity, the other holds an object near a brass tray of offerings. A large decorated deity murti in red and gold garments with floral garlands occupies the right side, beside a white-draped seat. A few more people in white are visible at the left edge, one seated on the floor. A dim hall, pillars and a corrugated roof frame the scene.

Night photograph of a temple shrine decorated with golden arch framing a large deity murti pair, adorned with marigold and rose garlands and red-and-white floral decoration. A priest in an orange-saffron garment stands at left, tending oil lamps, while two devotees in white and dark clothing stand in the foreground facing the shrine. Strings of small lights hang at left and a brass kalasha-style lamp stand is at right. Other devotees stand in the background. The scene reads as a puja or aarti in progress at the shrine.
