A woman in a white top and a woman in a maroon sari with folded hands sit at right, while a bald older man in white clothes with folded hands sits beside a brass bowl and a small fire pit with offerings. A person in white at left holds a lit lamp toward the deities. Two tall dark standing statues in orange saris flank the shrine, and a framed portrait with orange and red garlands and a brass oil lamp stands at right. A brass oil lamp stands at far left. The scene suggests a homa or puja at the fire pit.A photograph of a puja inside a temple shrine. Three people sit on the floor before a row of small golden-haloed deity murtis dressed in red, green, purple and blue garlands and saris. A woman in a white shirt on the left pours or offers from a small steel vessel, a woman in a maroon-and-pink sari in the centre holds a small offering, and an elderly man in white clothes on the right presses his palms together in anjali. Brass vessels, a steel bowl of food, a brass lamp and a small oil lamp sit on a low wooden table. Behind them stands an orange-robed figure statue beneath a white arch. On the right, a framed portrait with an orange and white garland shows a figure with long hair and rudraksha beads, with a caption-free print. Three physical people are visible.A photograph inside a temple shrine showing a priest seated at lower left in white ritual clothes, with glasses, holding a small ritual implement and facing the altar. Before him are brass oil lamps and a brass bowl on a stone platform. At center sit three deity murtis: a central figure in pink and white garments with a tall crown and garlands, flanked by smaller figures, one in gold and brown with a white garland and another with green adornments and red flowers. Behind them stands a gilded arch framing a further shrine with red drapery. Two dark stone statues in orange-saffron dhotis stand at the left and right walls. The setting appears to be a puja or abhishekam in progress.2009-09-22March 04 20162016-03-04Crowded interior of a temple-style hall with gold-framed shrine arches and deity murtis, including a Ganesha murti with a red-and-gold cloth and garlands in the lower right. Several deity murtis sit on the thrones, decorated with flower garlands, one under a golden umbrella. On the left, a standing priest in white dhoti and shawl holds a long brass staff, while two seated priests sit on mats in front, one bare-chested with sacred markings on the body. Brass lamps, ritual implements and fruit offerings are arranged in front of the thrones. Two people are visible in the mid-ground and one standing figure at left, so this is a ritual scene with priests performing worship.2015-10-18
