Close photo of a seated puja in progress along a row of participants in white and saffron-trimmed garments with rudraksha malas and white sacred ash marks on their arms and chests. A person's hand holds a brass oil lamp (deepam) and other hands rest near brass plates and small cups of offerings, flowers and rice. Copper vessels, lit candles and several small oil lamps line the cool floor, with a striped woven mat beneath the devotees. The foreground shows an open book or sheet of ritual text. The scene suggests a group ritual with lamps and offerings rather than a specific named event.
