June 15 2004 - Himalayan Yatra - Delhi and Rishikesh

A roadside scene in a hill town with a white Tourist coach in the foreground, its side windows and front lettering reading TOURIST, with a second white bus behind it. A group of people stands and walks beside the vehicles on a paved road, several carrying bags and wearing light clothing, some in orange garments. Wooded hills rise behind a row of buildings under a soft early light.

A photograph of a group boarding or stepping off a white coach bus at a roadside stop. A man in a saffron-orange shawl and white shirt stands in the open bus doorway, one arm raised toward the group. A woman in white clothing with an orange scarf stands beside the door, and several men in white and light shirts crowd the pavement in front, including one in a light grey shirt. A woman in a blue saree stands among them. A small bag sits on the step and a blue bag hangs on the right.

A dusty roadside stop beside a white tourist coach with its side door open and a blue tarpaulin-wrapped load strapped to its roof. Several men and women stand under a tree at left, one woman in a grey shawl and white salwar, and a man in a khaki shirt. A small cart with produce sits on the dirt. A young man in a grey shirt and white trousers steps toward the bus door, and another in olive trousers stands near the bus. No saffron-clad figure or identifiable a person is visible in the frame.

A white tourist bus with blue lettering reading TOURIST on its windscreen stands on a dirt road beside green trees. Several men in white kurta-pajama with orange shawls and a young man in white with an orange shawl gather near the front, one man in white and orange fixing or adjusting something at the bus front. A small orange and white flag is tied near the grille. A yellow Indian registration plate reads LL 1P 7617 (partially visible). Other men stand in the background near a roadside shelter.

A street-side photo beside two parked white buses. On the left bus, a black window panel shows the white lettering "ttt". Beside the right bus, a woman with long dark hair in a saffron-orange sari stands near the bus door, holding a small object in her hands. A man in a grey checked shirt stands beside her, looking down at what she holds. Behind them, closed roll-down shutters line a shop front with partial signage. The scene appears to be a bus departure or boarding moment in an urban street.

A photograph of a white minibus with a blue tarpaulin draped over its roof and a yellow Delhi registration plate reading DL-1P B-7049, parked on a dusty road beside a moss-covered stone wall at dusk. Several people in salwar kameez and saris, including a woman in a pale green outfit with a backpack and a woman in pink and yellow, board or wait by the open door. More buses and a crowd stand farther back under trees.

A photograph of a white minibus parked on a mountain roadside with a rocky, pine-covered slope behind it. A figure in orange saffron robes stands in the open doorway, and several people in orange and saffron clothing sit inside the bus windows. A man in a red-orange vest over a grey shirt and blue trousers stands on the roadside holding a white bag, and a luggage rack piled with bags sits on the bus roof. The scene suggests a group travelling together on a Himalayan road.

A photograph of two white tourist coaches parked on a dirt road in a forested hillside setting with pine trees and mountains behind. The nearer coach has a TOURIST sign on its windscreen and the name Hanuman on its side; the other bus is marked Schaal. Several men in orange scarves and white or dark clothing stand beside the buses, some boarding or waiting, while a man in a dark jacket walks in the foreground. Small orange flags are attached to the buses.

A white tourist bus with the blue word TOURIST on its windscreen and a Hanuman branding on its side is parked on a hillside road beside tall pine trees. An orange flag is fixed to the front bumper, and a small framed picture of a saffron-robed sannyasi with a red cloth is visible on the dashboard. Several people in white and orange clothing stand by the open door of the bus and a second bus behind it, with forested hills and a clear blue sky in the background.
