September 30 20082008-09-30Photograph of a flag hoisting at an outdoor temple site under a clear blue sky. A tall copper-toned dhvajastambha flagpole rises beside an ornate carved stone base on a white platform. A figure in orange robes stands atop the base, reaching up toward the top of the pole, while a second person in an orange-red sari-style garment stands on a small wooden stool and pulls the flag rope taut. A small orange and white flag flutters near the top. A white building with the printed sign SRI NITHYANANDESHWARA is visible behind them, with trees on the left. The scene suggests a flag-raising ceremony in a temple precinct.2008-09-30October 09 20082008-10-09December 23 20082008-12-23December 23 20082008-12-23Low-angle photo of a tall copper flagpole standing on a carved stone base wrapped with white flower garlands and a broom-like bundle. A red-orange flag flutters near the top. In the foreground, a person in orange robes stands at the base pulling a rope that runs up the pole, with a rudraksha mala visible at the chest. A second person in orange robes, seen from behind, stands to the right holding folded cloth. Palm trees and leafy trees frame the open sky above.2010-07-01December 23 20082008-12-23Low-angle photo of a tall, polished metal flagstaff with a carved ornate base and a decorated finial at the top, from which a small saffron-orange flag flutters against a clear blue sky. Two taut guy ropes run diagonally up to the staff. In the lower left, a man in an orange short-sleeved shirt stands with his head bowed, partly cut off by the frame, and his arm extends toward the pole, apparently handling the rope during the flag hoisting. A white building edge is visible at the lower right.2008-09-30January 11 20162016-01-11A tall wooden flagpole with a carved, ornate top and a saffron-orange flag tied at its peak rises against an overcast sky. Its base is wrapped with white flower garlands and a bundle of green leaves, and palm trees frame the scene. Two people in saffron-orange robes stand at the base pulling on a rope that runs up the pole to raise the flag: the nearer one, with long dark hair and a rudraksha mala around the neck, grips the rope overhead, while a second person in orange below looks upward. Small petals or grains drift through the air.2010-07-01October 18 20102010-10-18September 30 20082008-09-30
