July 16 20062006-07-16Outdoor photo of a large open grassy field at a Vellore event site, with many people dressed in white clothing walking, standing and gathering across the lawn. A low cream boundary wall, a red-roofed shed on the left, palm trees and a few small buildings sit behind, under a partly cloudy sky. Some people are seated on the grass in small groups, and blue containers sit near the right edge. The crowd is dispersed across the field.2006-11-26Outdoor sports race on a dirt ground marked with white lane lines, with women in white saris and white blouses running or walking along the lanes. Several participants wear white sari with gold borders and necklaces. Behind them, a crowd of spectators in white and coloured clothes sits and stands on wooden bleachers beneath a blue and white canopy, with a blue-and-white flag and tall blue scaffolding frame visible. A man in white dhoti stands near the spectators, and a mountain and palm trees rise in the background.2006-12-28December 28 20062006-12-28December 28 20062006-12-28Outdoor photograph of a crowd gathered on bare sandy ground under palm and leafy trees, with a row of small white-and-blue flags strung overhead. Many people in white and light traditional dress, including women in white saris with coloured borders and men in white dhotis and shirts, move among clay pots and cooking fires in the background, apparently preparing offerings. A woman in a light green sari holds a water bottle, a man in white dhoti walks in the foreground, and women in pink and purple saris stand to the right beside a white-draped structure. The scene suggests a communal ritual cooking gathering, though no specific deity or ritual is clearly visible.2006-12-31An evening procession on a dusty open ground at dusk, with a pale orange sky and a row of trees and a water tank behind. Large crowds in white clothing walk and dance in the street. Men in white dhotis and shirts and women in white saris move among the crowd, with some in coloured saris and a child in a red patterned dress holding hands with a woman in white. In the foreground a woman in a blue sari with an orange rosette badge stands beside a woman in an orange top. On the right, drummers in white and dark dhotis play drums beside a decorated palanquin topped with a gold kalasha-style finial and colourful umbrella canopies. A woman in a blue sari and orange rosette stands at left, with a few people carrying bags.2010-02-12December 28 20062006-12-28Outdoor photo at sunset on a dusty open ground with trees, rooftops and a light pole behind. A line of devotees stands along the left-to-right foreground, mostly women and children in white clothing: several in plain white kurtas and white dhotis, some with white shawls or scarves draped over their shoulders. A few wear orange or saffron-coloured stoles and a cream sari with a red-orange border. Some wear yellow and white stoles. A woman in a white kurta holds an orange bag, and a young boy in a white shirt stands at the centre-left. A blue plastic barrel stands beside the line on the right. No clearly identifiable central figure is visible.2010-12-27Outdoor photograph on a reddish-brown dirt path among palm and leafy trees with a thatched yellow-roofed structure at right. A crowd of devotees, mostly in white, mill about in small groups. A man in a saffron-orange robe and dhoti stands at centre-left, facing a bare-headed man in a white kurta and dhoti. Women wear white saris with yellow and red borders and one wears a pink-and-white sari. Several men in white dhotis and kurtas walk toward the right, some carrying bags. The scene looks like a gathering or procession at an ashram-style campus.2010-01-01December 17 20062006-12-17Outdoor photo of a large crowd of devotees gathered on a dirt and concrete ground beneath tall shade trees, with yellow and saffron flags on poles. Many people wear white dhotis and white shirts, and women wear white saris, orange-and-white and orange-and-red shawls and yellow saris. A woman in a yellow sari stands at the front-left, and a woman in an orange-and-white checked shawl stands in the foreground near a white-clad woman holding a bag. Most of the crowd appears to be standing and watching something off-frame.2006-12-17
