In the foreground, a bare-chested sannyasi with long dreadlocked hair wrapped in a dark turban and a reddish-brown wrap, seated and reaching into a large silver bowl of yellow rice. Around him, women in white saris with red-orange and gold borders, white head coverings, and lanyards kneel and stand, one kneeling woman holding a white paper plate and another extending her palms toward the offering. Steel trays of rice sit on the mat, and white paper sheets cover the floor. Behind them, devotees in white and orange move about near a wall of framed photographs, consistent with a Maheshwara Puja food offering.2016-02-23February 23 20162016-02-23A photograph of a ritual scene outdoors. A figure on the left wears an orange turban, a long white jasmine garland, gold bracelets and a white bandage-like wrap on the arm, seated and smiling. Around him, women and devotees in white and orange-red shawls with rudraksha malas sit close together, several holding silver plates of offerings, small bowls and oil lamps. One woman in a red blouse and white sari holds a bowl near the figure, another in red and gold kneels with a tilak, and a woman in white with a red shawl pours from a bowl. Behind them, older devotees sit with hands folded in namaste. The setting shows a rope barrier and greenery, consistent with a puja or abhishekam gathering.2014-12-17A food service line in a large open pavilion with white walls and yellow draped valances. Volunteers in white clothes and white hairnets serve from brass chafing dishes with curry, standing beside a line of guests holding plates. A bald monk in saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha mala stands at right beside a younger monk in orange robes, while several people in white and red-orange shawls wait to be served. Other seated guests sit at white-covered chairs in the background, and a small shrine with framed deity images is visible at the far end. The scene reads as an annadan meal service.2015-07-01 +1 copiesPhoto of a food-serving scene at an indoor gathering. Behind them, women in white saris with gold borders and red shawls wear white hairnets and serve from steel bowls; a metal pan of yellow food and a banana leaf sit in front.
