December 31 20082008-12-31Outdoor ritual photo at a temple site with a large crowd. A central figure in an orange-red saffron robe stands with a multi-coloured flower garland, rudraksha mala and a gold chain, one hand raised in greeting. A tall silver ritual post or pillar stands before him on a base scattered with pink and red petals. A devotee's bare-chested figure is not present; behind him many men and women in white dhotis, white saris and cream clothing press forward, several with outstretched arms. At right, a tray of rose petals and brass puja vessels, including a conch shell and small lamps, sits on a wooden board. Rose petals cover the ground.2009-07-08 +1 copiesDecember 30 20072007-12-30July 07 20092009-07-07 +1 copiesDecember 23 20082008-12-23A long-haired man in an orange-red saffron robe stands at the centre, raising his right hand in blessing with a smile. He wears a multicoloured flower garland, a rudraksha mala, a gold chain and a gold bangle, with a red tilak on his forehead. Behind him a large crowd of devotees stands on sandy ground, mostly men in white shirts and dhotis or pale trousers, with women in white saris and a girl in a pink headscarf. In the foreground a silver stand holds a stream of water with rose petals scattered on the earth. At right, a tray with rose petals, brass plates and a conch shell sits on a wooden platform.2009-07-08 +1 copiesDecember 23 20092009-12-23Outdoor photo of a fire-walk (theemithi-style) at a coconut-palm grove. A long trench of glowing grey-white embers runs through the centre. A young boy in a peach shirt, beige shorts and a rudraksha mala is being guided across by two adults, one in a lime-green kurta and one in white with a rudraksha mala, while a woman in white in the foreground steadies him. Behind them a crowd of devotees in white kurtas and saris stands among palm trees under a bright sky. A bald man in white clothes and a rudraksha mala walks barefoot on the embers in the middle of the trench. The mood is communal and active.2008-12-31A barefoot man in saffron-orange robes walks down a red carpet between metal railings toward a temple shrine, raising his right hand in blessing. He wears a dark rudraksha mala and several layers of white beaded garlands over his shoulders, with a red bindi on his forehead. Behind him, a monk in orange follows, and devotees in white with yellow shawls stand on either side with hands folded. The shrine behind has a golden arch, orange draped curtains, and a gilded deity murti adorned with garlands. A camera tripod and cameraman are visible to the left. The shoulder-length swept-back hair, saffron robes, rudraksha mala and ceremonial garlands match the page's Swamiji claim, so this is a probable match.2010-09-14December 30 20072007-12-30Outdoor photograph at a cremation-site ritual on open grass. A long-haired figure in a saffron-orange garment and a heavy gold bead necklace stands barefoot beside a brick-lined fire pit of grey ash, pouring liquid from a small vessel. Around the pit lie rows of terracotta pots. Behind, a dozen men sit or stand in white dhotis and shirts, one in a pink shirt seated, another in a red shawl, with a silver SUV parked nearby under an overcast sky.2005-11-14October 17 20102010-10-17
