April 06 20172017-04-06Night photograph of an evening ritual at an open-sided temple pavilion with a corrugated roof. A person in a red-orange robe with an orange shawl holds a brass lamp of flaming oil or camphor with flowers, extending it toward a second person in a white dhoti with a gold border, bare-chested, wearing a rudraksha mala, who holds a metal plate. Behind them stands a golden deity murti with a decorated arch and a gilded vahana figure on a red-draped base. A square fire pit with ash sits in front, and white-and-red striped steps lie in the background. Two physical people are visible.2014-11-23August 02 20172017-08-02October 21 20152015-10-21 +1 copiesA temple puja in progress. Other men in white dhotis stand with palms pressed together in namaskar, one wearing a rudraksha mala. Colourful striped cloth covers the floor, with yellow stone blocks, a brass kalasha and marigold garlands nearby.2017-04-06A photo of a temple ritual. A shirtless priest in a yellow head cloth and white dhoti leans forward to wave a multi-flame oil lamp over a decorated altar. The altar holds a golden and wood ornamental seat draped with a white cloth and heaped with garlands of yellow and red flowers, with lit oil lamps and fruit offerings around it. Several men stand behind in white and saffron-bordered dhotis, some wearing gold necklaces and holding hands in prayer. Brass lamps and flower-decorated mats fill the foreground.2017-04-06November 21 20102010-11-21March 06 20162016-03-06 +1 copiesApril 06 20172017-04-06Night photo inside a stone temple hall with carved pillars. On the left, a man with long, swept-back dark hair and a white forehead mark wears an orange-saffron cloth, gold necklaces and bangles, and extends his right hand over a brass plate holding flowers, white petals and a lit oil lamp. Facing him, a bare-chested young priest in a white dhoti with a green-and-gold shawl and rudraksha mala holds the plate. Behind them, a man in a striped white shirt stands with palms pressed together in namaskar, and other devotees in white shirts and dhotis watch from the background. The left figure shows distinctive saffron clothing, long hair and gold ornaments, matching a probable Swamiji (probable) performing a puja offering with the priest attending. Lamp and flowers suggest an aarti or puja setting.2012-04-05November 23 20142014-11-23April 06 20172017-04-06
