May 09 20142014-05-09A seated person in a rust-brown turban and matching rust-brown robe with a gold edge sits on a red tiger-striped cushioned throne in front of gold carved decorations. They wear a white and orange flower garland, rudraksha beads and bangles, and place their right hand on the head of a young boy in white with a rudraksha mala, who holds their left hand with his eyes closed. A girl in pink and gold stands at the right edge. Gold lamps and a pink floral arrangement appear in the background. The scene resembles a blessing or padapuja-style darshan. Identity is not established from appearance alone; the clothing and seat suggest a presiding teacher, so the role is described without naming.2016-01-10October 25 20152015-10-25A seated figure with a shaved head? No: a figure with long dark hair wearing a rudraksha-style beaded necklace, a gold bangle and a maroon-and-gold draped garment places one raised hand on the forehead of a man in a white kurta with an orange-red shawl. The recipient stands with palms together at his waist while the officiant holds a folded paper in the other hand. Behind them stand women in white and orange clothing and gold-embroidered draperies, with a golden ornamental panel at left. The scene appears to be a blessing or darshan ritual inside a temple setting.2015-10-24December 26 20142014-12-26A photograph of a ritual blessing in a richly decorated hall. A figure in a rust-red turban, bare-shouldered with an orange-gold cloth, rudraksha-style beaded necklaces and gold bangles, places his right palm on the forehead of an older bald man in a white shirt with a red-orange shawl, who stands with palms pressed together in namaste. Behind them stands a gilded throne-like backdrop with gold ornaments and a golden staff, and garlanded red and green fabric. Two more people in white clothing with orange shawls stand at the right, one holding papers. The turbaned figure is a person, identified by his distinctive turban, bare upper body and beaded necklaces, and is shown in person giving blessing.2015-10-24A photograph of a seated figure in a tiger-striped velvet garment with a gold-and-brown belt, wearing a long pink, white and red flower garland and a white bangle, pressing one hand on the forehead of a young man in a white shirt with an orange shawl. The young man has his eyes closed and a hand raised. Behind them a bald man in orange and white robes with a rudraksha mala stands beside a red velvet throne with gold carving, and a woman in a white top watches. Flowers and greenery decorate the room. The seated figure is an appearance-based a person candidate, identifiable by the long dark hair, the flower garland and the tiger-print ceremonial clothing, giving a blessing to the young devotee in an indoor darshan setting.2012-12-16December 26 20142014-12-26July 15 20142014-07-15October 15 20152015-10-15A photograph of a ritual moment in a gilded temple setting. A man with long dark hair swept back, a white tilak on his forehead, bare-shouldered in an orange-red shawl and wearing a multi-strand rudraksha mala and rudraksha earrings, reaches forward and places his hand on the head of a second person. That person has curly dark hair, wears a white kurta with red embroidery and an orange-red shawl over the shoulders, and holds up one hand. Behind them stand a gold kalasha-style finial, a gold deity murti, and a peacock-feather fan on the left. Another hand holds a stick at the right edge.2014-09-13January 16 20162016-01-16
