Night-time street photograph of a crowd gathered for an aarti. In the centre, a man in a white shirt and orange shawl holds a brass lamp with a bright open flame, and devotees in white and orange clothing lean in with cupped hands to receive it. Around them, many onlookers stand close together, some with palms pressed in namaskar, one older woman in a dark sari with a red bindi at left, and a man in a white shirt with a red and gold shawl at right. A white van and trees are visible in the background. No identifiable a person figure is evident.

A photograph of an outdoor street scene with a brass lamp holding a large open flame at left, held by a man in white shirt. In the foreground at right, a man in orange saffron clothing and an orange turban holds a small brass vessel or bell over the lamp, with a long dark rudraksha mala hanging on his chest. Behind them a crowd of men in white shirts and orange shawls watches closely. Strings of small white and red pennant flags hang above, and a corrugated metal wall stands in the background. Swamiji (probable) is described by his orange turban and saffron clothing with rudraksha mala, performing the flame ritual during a procession.

Night photograph of a temple procession. In the centre, a man in an orange saffron robe with a rudraksha mala and bare upper body holds a lit camphor flame in a silver aarti plate raised with one hand, while his other hand holds a small silver vessel. Behind him, devotees in white clothes and orange shawls stand with palms pressed together. Oil lamp torches burn in the background, and an ornate deity murti with garlands is carried on a palanquin, with bright lights and a golden pillar at the right edge. This is aarti during a procession. The man's appearance is consistent with the page's a person claim, but the cues are not distinctive enough to confirm identity.

A photograph of a night-time ritual at a temple-like shrine. In the foreground a man in saffron-orange robes with a red-and-pink flower garland and a bronze bell in his hand sits beside a flaming lamp, while a tiered striped stone-and-cloth pedestal (peetha or yoni-like base) rises at left with a kalasha-like pot on top. Behind him, a man in white dhoti and shawl kneels and holds a flame over a plate, and a crowd of devotees in white, yellow and striped shirts stands and crouches around the ritual area under strings of lights. Flames, offerings and marigold garlands fill the scene.

Photograph of a crowd at an evening devotional gathering. In the foreground, a person seen from behind with short dark hair wears an orange-yellow shawl over a white garment. To the right, a woman in an orange and green saree with a vertical tilak and gold necklace presses her palms together in prayer beside a small flame in a dish. Other devotees in white, pink and blue clothing stand and kneel around, a hand extends a tray or dish at right, and an oil lamp glows nearby.

A crowded evening scene of devotees gathered outdoors near a building with pink-painted walls. In the foreground a woman in a red and gold silk sari with a red bindi and dark beaded necklace presses her palms together. Beside her an older woman in glasses and a pink patterned blouse holds a silver oil lamp with a lit flame, while a young man in an orange robe with a rudraksha mala and a white vibhuti mark on his forehead extends a hand toward the lamp. Several other devotees in white shirts and saris stand around, some with raised hands and tilak marks, and a small child is visible in the background. The gathering suggests an aarti or puja offering.
