Night photograph of a temple ratha festival. A man in an orange-saffron dhoti and white head wrap stands on the left, raising a flaming lamp toward a golden Nandi bull that carries a golden shrine canopy with a yellow drape. Behind the bull, deity murtis are dressed with green cloth, marigold and red garlands. Smoke rises from the lamp. Bright stage lights and coloured fairy lights frame the scene. The priest's face is not visible enough to judge who he is, so no identity is asserted.2015-11-24Night photograph of a temple-style ritual on an illuminated stage. A large golden bull statue (nandi) stands at left beside a gold-framed palanquin or throne with a yellow curtain and green drape, decorated with yellow and white flower garlands. Three deity murtis with red and gold crowns sit within it. A multicoloured canopy with a trident emblem hangs above. Two men stand in front: a priest in a rust-coloured dhoti and shawl with a white turban and rudraksha-style garland holds a lamp, while a younger assistant in white dhoti and white turban holds a small aarti lamp. Dark background, stage lights.2015-11-11November 11 20152015-11-11November 11 20152015-11-11December 31 20152015-12-31Night procession at the ashram: a shirtless man in a white dhoti and sacred thread stands at the side of a golden nandi (bull) vahana that pulls a tall, ornate ratha. Two standing priests in orange-saffron dhotis with bare upper bodies, one with a shaved-looking dark head and gold armbands, stand with their backs to the camera facing a large silver-and-gold ornate throne with a decorated canopy above. A seated figure in orange robes with a gold necklace presses palms together at the left side of the throne. Beside the throne stands a gold-and-silver vehicle-like structure with a gold animal figure and a deity murti decorated with yellow and white marigold garlands and pink garlands, draped with a red cloth and scattered flower petals. A tall dark statue stands at the far right, and a multicoloured fringed canopy hangs overhead on a red-and-gold stage backdrop.2018-04-19Night photograph of a temple-style ritual procession on a dark stage.
