A seated man in white ritual clothes with gold-bordered dhoti and shawl sits cross-legged with eyes closed and hands folded in his lap, wearing a long rudraksha mala and a red tilak on his forehead. Behind him a group of boys and young men sit on mats, some with eyes closed, and a child in an orange t-shirt and brown shorts sits at left looking toward the camera. Brass and steel vessels, a red box, flower petals and plates of offerings lie on the floor in front. Red curtains and bright tube lights are visible in the background. Appearance alone is not enough to name the seated man as a person, so he is described by role as a seated devotee in white ritual dress.2011-10-05October 05 20112011-10-05A photograph of a seated group of boys and young men performing a puja in a hall with red curtains. Many are sitting on mats before brass plates holding offerings, small oil lamps, and bowls, and several hold small brass bells or lamps. Some wear white dhoti-style clothing with shaved heads and vibhuti marks, while others wear casual shirts, an orange t-shirt, and a striped shirt. One young man in white at the right holds a brass bell and a lamp beside a rudraksha mala.2011-11-04July 07 20132013-07-07October 17 20112011-10-17A photograph of a seated ritual on a white tiled floor with several priests in white dhotis and bare upper bodies, some with rudraksha malas and white and red forehead markings. Two boys in the foreground wear white dhotis and white sacred threads, one holding a small brass lamp or spoon while the other holds a small offering packet. Brass plates hold fruit, flowers, a kalasha-style vessel, oil lamps and a small brass lamp stand on a red cloth, with pink and red flowers in a blue tray. A bright yellow cloth lies nearby and small oil lamps burn on the floor. The scene appears to be a puja or homa-style ceremony with offerings being prepared.2017-05-26A photograph of a group puja in a hall with a seated congregation.
