November 19 20162016-11-19Outdoor site work on bare red-brown earth. Three men dig and set a vertical metal rod into the ground. A man in a pink-and-white checked shirt and dark trousers crouches beside a small pile of excavated soil and holds the rod. A shirtless-looking young man in a white t-shirt grips the rod upright beside him, and a third man in a light shirt and patterned shorts stoops to work on the ground further back. A yellow excavator sits near a red boundary wall, with trees and a clear sky behind. No a person candidate is visible.2016-11-20Outdoor construction site on bare sandy ground. Two men set a concrete post: a man in a white checked shirt and grey trousers holds a long iron rod and leans on the post, while a younger man in a striped purple-and-white polo and dark trousers presses his hand against the post, which is set in wet cement. A measuring tape lies coiled on the ground. Other posts stand in a line behind them, with a red fence, trees and a distant figure in the background.2016-11-19A construction site at a rural ashram setting with bare red-brown earth. A worker in a white shirt and grey trousers, leaning forward with a shovel, scoops soil from a trench. A second man in a blue plaid shirt, grey trousers and a white head cloth stands watching beside him. Rusted rebar rods rise from the foundation, trees and a yellow excavator sit in the background, and a hose lies across the ground. Neither man is clearly identifiable as a person.2006-12-12A photograph of a construction site beside large white tent structures. Three workers dig in brown earth with spades and hoes, one in a patterned shirt and checked lungi standing at the left, one in a light blue shirt bending low, and one in a grey shirt and dark trousers swinging a tool at right. Freshly dug mounds of soil surround white PVC pipes and yellow concrete rings lie on the ground. Behind them a man in a white shirt stands near a yellow excavator, and a red-roofed building, a water tower and trees appear in the background.2016-11-24A dusty dirt path in an ashram compound during site preparation. Several men work on the ground: a man in a striped shirt and jeans crouches at left digging with a long iron rod, another in a plaid shirt and dark trousers pushes a rod into the soil at center, a man in a purple top and orange lungi stands beside him, and a young man in a checked shirt holds a rod at right near a palm tree. A wooden-handled tool lies in a shallow trench beside a string line and a flat metal disc marker. Pipes and cut stones line freshly dug trenches on the right, and terracotta-coloured buildings and green shrubs sit in the background under a pale sky. No a person is visible.2016-11-24Outdoor construction work on dry, sandy ground beside a red boundary wall and trees. A tall, rough-cut stone pillar stands upright as workers set it in fresh grey concrete. A smiling man in a white checked shirt and grey trousers holds a long iron rod leaning on the pillar. A young man in a striped purple-and-white top and dark trousers bends low, hands in the wet cement at the pillar base. A third worker in an orange-and-white striped shirt and green-checked head cloth stands at right, holding a bucket of mortar. Blue sky and loose gravel complete the scene.2016-11-19 +1 copiesA photograph of four men laying stone paving on a dirt construction site outdoors. A man in a pink shirt and checked lungi bends forward holding a long-handled tool to press cement between grey stone slabs. Beside him a man in a cream shirt and striped lungi stands watching, and an older man in a checked shirt and white head cloth crouches to set a large pale stone slab with a blue bucket beside him. A man in a yellow striped shirt helps guide the slab, and an older man in a light blue shirt and dark trousers stands at right. Behind them stand a shed, a red container and banana plants, with stacked stone blocks scattered across the ground.2016-09-03 +1 copiesA photograph of volunteers doing manual earthwork at a construction site with red-brown soil heaps. A man in a pink-and-white striped shirt and grey trousers, with a name badge, digs with a long-handled spade and shovel. Beside him a man in a red hard hat bends to dig, while a man in a black vest with a chain stands behind, and a man in a red shirt and grey cap watches. On the right, a man in a turquoise shirt and blue turban stands looking on. Behind them is a white wire-mesh fence with concrete posts and a whitewashed wall, with a young sapling in the right background.2008-02-23A photograph of laborers digging holes on a dirt road beside a rural area with trees and a low shrub. Six men work in the foreground and background: one on the left holds a long iron rod, another in a white shirt and checked lungi bends over a hole with a pickaxe, and a worker in a pink shirt and blue shorts digs in a pit. Others wear white shirts, green lungis and head cloths, and stand watching or shovelling loose soil. Piles of red earth and stones lie beside the pits, with a red metal railing along the roadside and a small building in the distance. No ritual, deity or a person appears in the scene.2006-10-21November 02 20162016-11-02July 20 20102010-07-20
