The setting is a narrow dim corridor with corrugated metal walls, and another person is partly visible behind the bull.2013-07-14A photograph taken inside a narrow corridor with corrugated metal walls. At left, a man with long dark hair and a dark red-brown wrap over his shoulders, with rudraksha-style beaded adornments, looks toward a large gilded wooden sculpture of a makara-like beast with a curled trunk and ornate carved body. Behind him, a second man in a dark shirt and white-framed glasses leans in to examine the gold-leafed carving. The gilded figure is elaborately carved with scrollwork and bands of decoration.2013-07-14A man in a saffron-orange wrap with a rudraksha mala draped over his shoulders stands beside a large gilded bull statue, a Nandi, inside a metal shipping container. The Nandi has a golden head with a rope-like bridle and ornately carved, gilt-covered body and saddle, resting on a wooden crate frame. The man smiles and looks toward the statue; a person in white holds a camera on the far side. The man shows a distinctive saffron wrap and mala, but his appearance is not clear enough to confirm identity, so he is described by role only as a devotee-attendant beside the Nandi.2013-07-14July 13 20132013-07-13A photograph inside a temple shrine where a man in a rust-brown robe, with a red and white flower garland and a long dark braid, reaches toward a gold-framed seat draped with a striped and blue embroidered cloth and marigold garlands. Behind him, a deity murti is dressed in a yellow, orange and blue embellished silk garment with gold ornaments, and a red cloth hangs in the background. A brass oil lamp stands at the right edge. Pink curtains frame the left side of the shrine.2016-05-22July 24 20132013-07-24July 13 20132013-07-13November 08 20132013-11-08A photograph of a man in a rust-orange cloth wrapped with gold-bordered bands, wearing a long necklace of rudraksha beads and holding a small thin stick in his right hand. His left hand rests on the head of a polished bronze standing deity murti of a female figure with an ornate crown, necklace and jewelled waist belt. A red chair and wooden carved furniture sit in the background beside a blue tarpaulin wall. The man has a red tilak mark on his forehead and hair swept back. The man's appearance is not clearly distinctive enough to establish identity, so he is described only by role.2013-07-13Night photograph of a man in saffron-orange turban and orange dhoti, bare-chested, standing beside large gold-coloured seated deity murti and a gilded wooden pillar. He is lifting a white cloth with gold borders with one hand, appearing to drape or adjust it over the golden figure. A distinctive saffron turban, bare upper body and sacred ash marks on the chest match the a person cues, but the face is turned away, so appearance is uncertain; he is described by role as a sannyasi-clad figure. Background is dark with a floodlight in the corner.2006-09-23
