Several dozen seated participants fill the floor: in the foreground, about five monastics in saffron/orange robes with shaved heads sit on mats before small brass lamps, steel plates of offerings and red and yellow pots, while behind them devotees in white dhotis and shirts, some with white shawls and forehead markings, sit in rows. Plates of food, small lamps and mats are arranged in front of them. No individual's identity is established from appearance; the portraits on the wall are printed pictures, not physical people.
