At the centre a man in a dark maroon dhoti with gold borders and a red-orange turban-like head covering carries a lit oil lamp in a brass vessel, with a garland of red and white flowers and a beaded necklace. Men in saffron and white dhotis carry long staffs, and others hold flat brass trays of offerings. Overhead, large ornate umbrellas with red and gold fringed canopies shade the procession. A figure in white kurta raises an arm near the front. Four men in saffron and maroon sacred cloths stand in a line. The man on the far right, wearing a maroon dhoti, gold necklaces, a gold waist belt and armlets, gestures with his open right hand toward the others. The man on the left, bare-chested with white ash markings and a rudraksha-style mala, holds a tray of colourful flower garlands. The second and third men carry offerings: one holds a purple and gold cloth bundle with flowers, the other a tray of flowers and leaves. A bright floodlight glows at upper right.2017-09-05December 05 20142014-12-05
