On the left a woman in white clothes with a yellow head covering and a rudraksha mala with a red pendant holds the plate with bangles on her wrist. On the right a person in orange robes holds the other side of the kalasha. Sandy ground and scattered petals lie behind them.2008-11-28July 29 20072007-07-29A festival procession on a dusty dirt path during daytime. In the foreground a man in white ceremonial clothes and a rudraksha mala holds a long wooden pole of a decorated umbrella (chatra) with a red, yellow and orange floral-patterned canopy. Behind him, men in white dhotis carry similar umbrellas, one green and red, and a trident-topped standard is visible. Several sannyasis in saffron/orange robes walk in the procession; one wears a yellow-orange garland and holds flowers, another wears a long white floral garland. A man in white carries a metal vessel with offerings on the right. Women in white and orange saris and a few onlookers stand at left beside a thatched structure and flowering plants.2008-12-25Outdoor food offering scene under palm trees on a sunny day. In the foreground a long tan table holds a large brass plate of white grains, a stainless steel pot with a lid, a brass tray of marigold and red flower petals, and a small bowl. A man in a white shirt with a long dark wavy hair and beaded necklace stirs or serves from the steel pot. Beside him a shaven-headed sadhu in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala holds a tray and serves. Another shaven-headed man in orange wrap with a red-brown mala stands behind the table. Devotees in white and colourful clothes, including a woman in white with beaded necklace, watch from the left. The setting suggests a community annadan or prasadam distribution.2013-11-15An outdoor procession of devotees in saffron and orange clothing carries large ornate yellow and red umbrella-like banners painted with blue-and-white bird motifs and gold flower designs. A devotee in the centre holds a tall brass trident staff and wears a long garland and beaded necklaces, while others around him hold their hands together in greeting. Men in white dhotis and shirts walk among the crowd, and a brass pot with a coconut and green leaves sits in the lower foreground. Some onlookers stand in the background under a striped canopy.2009-01-01July 07 20092009-07-07 +1 copies
