December 27 20092009-12-27Inside a open-sided shrine, a shaven-headed priest in orange and a red-sashed attendant in orange dhoti stand before a deity figure and seated figures on a golden throne. A shaved priest in orange cloth lifts a brass plate or tray toward the central deities, who wear garlands of red, orange and yellow flowers. Brass oil lamps (deepa) stand on both sides and brass vessels and kalasha sit at the front, with a brass deity murti in the foreground draped with a red-and-white flower garland. Abhishekam or aarti-style worship is being performed in a temple setting with green trees visible through glass walls.2013-04-14 +1 copiesMarch 10 20132013-03-10A temple photograph of a pada puja at a Shiva temple. Centre frame is a gilded deity murti seated on a throne of red cloth, adorned with a crown, jewelled necklaces and a long staff, framed by an arch of multicoloured flower garlands in red, yellow, white and purple. In front lies a black stone shivalinga wrapped in yellow and orange flower garlands, with green leaves and offerings on a black base. Right edge shows another garlanded figure in a turban with a raised hand. The scene suggests aarti or puja.2015-01-13A temple shrine photograph showing golden deity murtis of a seated male deity and a companion figure, both richly ornamented, behind a band of garlands in yellow, orange, red, purple and green. A standing shaved-headed priest in an orange-saffron garment with a rudraksha-style necklace performs ritual service at the front, while a man in a white dhoti with a gold border and a red-and-white flower garland stands beside a central sivalinga-like stone form decorated with garlands. Offerings of fruit sit on a tray, lit oil lamps stand on tall brass and silver stands, and a large gold ornamental backrest frames the foreground. The scene appears to be an abhishekam or puja at a temple shrine.2010-01-01A long-haired man in a rust-red dhoti and upper cloth with orange-gold borders stands at left, holding a silver lamp or aarti vessel toward a pair of golden deity murtis seated on a red throne.
