He wears a red-orange turban with a gold and jeweled ornament, orange-red draped garment with gold border, a gold belt, layered gold beaded necklaces and gold armlets and bangles. Long dark hair falls behind him. Another person's hand holds a lit aarti lamp with a large flame at lower left, and yellow flower garlands hang on the right against a red wall. Smoke hangs in the air.2017-10-18January 13 20152015-01-13October 18 20172017-10-18A man in an orange-red turban and matching saffron-red dhoti-style wrap with a gold border tends a large fire at a homa. He wears a rudraksha mala and heavy gold beaded necklaces, with bead bracelets on his wrists and a red bindi on his forehead. Bright flames rise from a brick fire pit in front of him, and a copper pot sits to the side. The setting is dark and smoky, with the figure lit mainly by the fire.2014-01-05December 23 20162016-12-23A man in a red-and-maroon turban decorated with a golden crescent ornament stands holding a brass lamp with a bright flame, as in an aarti offering. He wears a multicolour marigold garland, a gold-beaded necklace and maroon robes with a silver-toned waist ornament. Behind him, a blurred figure in cream clothing stands near a wooden pillar in a dimly lit temple hall, with a bright lamp flame in the foreground. The scene suggests a lamp-lighting ritual during Karthigai Deepam celebrations. The man is shown in close, candid framing with his eyes lowered.2017-12-02Ritual scene in a decorated hall with red and gold drapery. A central figure in a rust-red garment with a heavy gold necklace, gold armlets and a gold crown stands with palms pressed together in namaskar, eyes lowered, beside a flaming fire pit in a copper bowl ringed with white jasmine garlands. Behind, a young attendant in orange silk holds a brass tray, and a row of devotees in white dhotis with red sashes stands with hands folded. Brass oil lamps and a draped red table complete the setting. The figure's long swept-back hair, gold crown and gold ornaments match the page's a person cues, so this is a probable in-person presence at a homa-style puja.2016-05-24December 05 20142014-12-05
