Outdoor photograph beneath a large banyan tree with hanging aerial roots. A shirtless man with long dark hair stands with his back to the camera, wearing a maroon dhoti with gold border and a maroon shawl, and holding a small ritual vessel while facing a decorated shrine. The shrine has a white arched frame wrapped in garlands in purple, yellow, red and green, with a red-painted stone base and a dark-rimmed platform. Pillars and a low stone enclosure surround the area, and a sign at left reads ENTER THE CAVE. Appears to be a puja or aarti at a shrine under the tree.2011-12-15December 15 20112011-12-15December 15 20112011-12-15A photograph of a standing woman in a red-orange sari with gold border and gold armlet, long dark hair, holding a lit oil lamp or ritual lamp near the trunk of a large banyan tree with aerial roots. Beside her, several garlands of yellow, red, magenta and green flowers hang from the tree. A small black stone platform with offerings lies in front, and a blue sign reads DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE. Another person in peach clothing sits at the lower left edge.2016-01-03December 14 20162016-12-14Outdoor photo beneath a large banyan tree with exposed aerial roots. A figure with long dreadlocks, a rust-red turban and a bare chest, wearing a white flower garland with gold armlets, stands in profile facing a flower-decorated trunk. The garland is red, yellow, orange, purple and white. A blue sign reads DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE. Behind him, a man in white dhoti holds a lit lamp on a tray in front of a canopy, and a cameraman in white dhoti films. A man in orange dhoti with rudraksha beads holds a lamp tray. The figure at the front has distinctive long hair and adornments, but identity is uncertain from appearance, so the description uses the role of devotee and priest.2016-12-14A photograph of a smiling person in an orange-red ceremonial turban and matching orange-red dhoti-style garment with gold borders, wearing a long rudraksha-style multi-coloured flower garland and gold necklaces. The person holds a lit oil lamp with an open flame and a small metal lamp stand near a large, twisted banyan tree with thick aerial roots. A garland of marigolds and roses in red, green, yellow and white is draped along the tree trunk. A blue sign at the lower right reads DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE. Scattered flower petals lie on the ground.2015-07-31 +1 copiesDecember 14 20162016-12-14December 14 20162016-12-14A photograph of a large banyan tree with many aerial roots and trunk, wrapped with a long garland of red, yellow, white and green flowers.
