In the foreground, a woman in a white dress with a red shawl and a dark bun holds a small lit oil lamp in her right hand, looking down with a serious expression. Beside her, a woman with a ponytail wears a white outfit with an orange shawl and looks downward. Behind them, another woman in a yellow shawl and a candle-holding person sit in the background. A metal stanchion and chain run along the right edge.2012-10-19July 09 20152015-07-09A group of five devotees sit cross-legged on a colourful striped mat during a lamp ritual indoors. Each holds a small brass oil lamp with a lit flame, raised near the chest or face. Most wear white kurta or shirts with red-orange shawls bearing dark patterns. A bald man in a blue shirt and glasses sits at left, a woman with grey hair and gold bangles lifts a lamp, a grey-bearded man with a rudraksha mala holds one centre, and a woman in white with bangles lifts a lamp at right. At far right, a young man with a white forehead band and orange-saffron robe with a mala joins the ritual. Behind them, rows of seated people in white and orange clothing fill the hall, with plates and small offering cups on the floor.2013-11-10May 23 20152015-05-23A photograph of a group ceremony where devotees hold lit oil lamps (diyas) in a seated gathering. In the foreground, several women in white ritual clothes with rudraksha malas and white and red forehead markings hold lamps toward the viewer. Behind them, rows of people wear orange and saffron garments and white forehead marks, some with beaded necklaces, while others sit with their hands raised. The setting appears to be a temple or ashram hall with a tiled floor and a small tray of offerings at lower left, consistent with an aarti or puja. No individual in the scene is clearly recognizable as a person; the visible figures are devotees and ritual participants.2014-09-16August 14 20142014-08-14A seated group ritual in a bright hall with a light floor. In the foreground a woman with long platinum-blonde hair, wearing a cream sari with gold border and a red shawl, holds a brass aarti lamp aloft with one hand while her other hand rests on her chest. Beside her a bespectacled man with a grey beard, dressed in white shirt and trousers with a red lanyard and rudraksha-style mala, holds a lit oil lamp in his hand. Behind them women in orange and red garments with mala beads sit with palms pressed together, and banana leaves with food offerings lie on the floor. The scene reads as an aarti during a puja.2013-07-14A seated group puja in a hall with a tiled floor and woven mats. In the foreground, a woman in white clothes with a brown rudraksha mala and a white forehead mark sits with eyes closed, holding an incense stick. Beside her, a woman in orange robes with glasses and a long rudraksha mala performs ritual actions over a brass plate with a lamp and offerings. Behind them, rows of devotees in orange and white sit before small brass lamps, plates and incense on low wooden stands. A few people wear white, others orange, and some wear red and maroon. Overall it is a devotional ritual with oil lamps and offerings.2014-08-14December 20 20132013-12-20May 17 20142014-05-17July 12 20162016-07-12
