Close-up photo of two pairs of hands clasped in a ritual gesture. On the left, a person in a tan kurta wears silver bangles and a dark wristband. On the right, a person in an orange saffron robe holds the hands, with a fruit and a basket of purple flowers visible at the bottom. A white garment and a white wall are behind them. Only the hands and arms of the two people are visible, so the person in orange is not identifiable from the frame.2009-12-03January 06 20182018-01-06May 20 20122012-05-20Close-up photograph of two pairs of hands clasped together, one set wearing a gold ring and layered gold and beaded bangles over saffron-orange clothing, the other set wearing a red thread bracelet and a brown beaded mala wrist. On the right, a person in saffron-orange cloth wears a rudraksha mala of brown beads and holds their hand out, palm turned upward, toward a person on the left whose arm wears a red and white beaded bracelet and a pink garment. The background shows more orange and red fabric, and a blurred green edge at the right. No face is visible, and the shot is tightly cropped on the hands and the exchange between them.2015-12-19A photograph of a padapuja ceremony outdoors. A man in a white and red checked shirt with glasses kneels and holds the hand of a smiling figure seated in orange saffron robes, with long hair swept back and a long rudraksha mala draped over the chest, with a red-and-white mark on the forehead. The seated figure is shown in the appearance-based label a person based on the long swept-back hair, saffron robes and rudraksha malas. In front, a wooden tray holds apples, bananas, rudraksha malas and other offerings, and behind them a white cloth and banked pink, orange and purple flowers decorate a stone platform. A small partial figure appears at the lower right.2010-07-27Close-up photo of two hands meeting in a ritual exchange: a hand with a red and silver bangle reaches to receive a small clear object. Orange and saffron fabric is blurred in the background. The receiving wrist wears red bangles. Behind them are garlands of red, yellow, white and purple flowers. The seated figure is shown only from the knee down, so no face is visible; the appearance is too limited to confirm who it is, and only hands and limbs are shown.2009-12-24Evening crowd scene at a darshan line. A figure in an orange-saffron sleeveless top and a bright orange turban, with long dark hair swept back, clasps hands with a bald man in a blue-and-white striped shirt who has his palms pressed together in greeting.
