January 05 20102010-01-05A copper-coloured metal elephant statue with raised trunk and ornate caparison, mounted on a low wooden cart with painted blue-and-red border. A young man in a white-and-blue striped shirt and jeans crouches beside it, looking toward the camera and working on the statue with tools. Two other men in white dhoti and shirt stand in the background among dry palm fronds on sandy ground. Tools lie on the cart. The statue appears to be a temple procession vehicle element.2010-01-05January 05 20102010-01-05September 18 20062006-09-18Making Of Sacred Arts UniversityA photograph of a workshop at night where a man in a striped shirt and checked lungi bends over a large, dusty grey sculpted figure lying on a concrete floor. A small fire glows in the background, and a bundled cloth and lattice wall are visible.A photograph taken under a white tarpaulin canopy at an outdoor workshop of a large metal deity murti, seated with a tall crown and ornate jewellery, alongside a second, smaller consort figure wearing a crown. A man with long dark hair in an orange robe and a white shirt stands with his hand on the murti, leaning in toward it. Nearby, an older man in a white shirt sits at the right edge with his back to the camera. Its body is densely embossed with scrollwork, floral and medallion patterns, and beaded borders, with a tusk-like carved element and a bundled rope at its trunk. Red wooden poles stand near it. On the right, a man in a striped shirt and white dhoti stands with his back to the camera, and at the left edge a hand holds a small camera. Only the foreground figures are physical people; the elephant is a sculpted object.
