A seated man in orange robes with a rudraksha mala and forearm bands sits at the right beside a raised, gold-ornate seat decorated with white and red garlands. Behind him, several men in saffron and orange robes stand or sit, one holding a silver vessel, while a woman in a red blouse and orange-red wrap raises a hand toward the seat. Nearby, a young woman in an orange sari sits in front of a microphone, and a row of boys in orange and saffron robes, some with white tilak marks and rudraksha malas, sit with palms joined. Ceremonial umbrellas with teal and gold trim, decorated staffs, and a trident are visible. Palm trees and red-roofed buildings surround the scene. This appears to be a homa or yagna ritual with devotees and attendants in attendance.2014-09-26A photograph of a ritual outdoors under palm trees, with a fire pit (homa) burning at the centre. On the left, a large deity murti is decorated with a garland of yellow and red flowers and ornate gold jewellery. Two women in orange and red saris stand at the fire, one with hands raised; a woman in a white dhoti-style garment with gold trim stands beside them. Two shaven-headed men in orange and red robes with rudraksha malas kneel on the orange cloth, and a seated woman in orange and red garb sits on the right. Brass bowls and plates with yellow flowers are arranged on the mat, and a man in an orange robe holds a plate of marigolds near the fire. Microphones stand on the cloth at left.2013-09-09September 09 20132013-09-09Outdoor ritual scene at a homa fire pit lined with stone, with dark ash and burnt wood inside. Several young people in saffron-orange robes and rudraksha malas sit around it, one in red and gold attire with white sandal markings on the arms. Behind them a seated figure in an orange cloth is decorated with white and yellow flower garlands, and a standing attendant in orange with a mala watches nearby. Brass pots and plates of offerings sit on the floor, and a red-pillared canopy and red walls are visible behind. Six people appear in the frame.2014-09-09September 09 20132013-09-09August 31 20172017-08-31August 24 20142014-08-24October 10 20172017-10-10 +2 copies
