Night photograph of a person seen from behind in a rust-red and orange-gold dhoti and matching upper cloth, with an orange head covering and bangles on the wrists. They hold a long string of fireworks in one hand and light a row of upright firecrackers on a cardboard box on dark dirt ground strewn with debris, with sparks and smoke rising from the fuses. The scene reads as a Deepavali firecracker celebration. No readable names are visible, and the person's identity is not established by appearance.2013-11-02November 02 20132013-11-02October 30 20162016-10-30 +1 copiesA photograph taken at night on a concrete ground littered with spent firework debris. In the foreground a man in orange clothing, with an orange head wrap and bare upper body, crouches low while lighting a small firework on the ground; sparks are spraying from it. Behind him in the dark, a faint figure in dark clothing stands at a distance. The scene is a Deepavali celebration with firecrackers. The crouching man wears orange garments and white-strapped sandals; his appearance does not clearly establish a distinctive a person identity, so the candidate is unsure.2002-11-04Night photo on a bare dirt ground showing a lone figure in orange-saffron robes standing at left, hands pressed together in front of the chest, facing a tall white-gold firework fountain erupting upward from the ground with sparks and smoke. Strings of red, green and white fairy lights stretch across the dark background, and scattered debris lies on the earth.2016-10-30A night photograph of an outdoor ground lit by a large bright firework fountain of sparks rising from the dusty earth. A single person in an orange saffron garment, wrapped in an orange cloth and holding something small in the hands, walks at left past the burst of fire. Smoke drifts left of the sparks and a string of multicoloured fairy lights runs across the dark background.2016-10-30November 02 20132013-11-02Night photo of three men in saffron-orange sannyasi robes and a white-clad man lighting sparklers in an open courtyard beside a low red-walled building with fluorescent lights. Sparks fly upward and fall to the ground. The man at left in orange robes with a rudraksha mala holds a sparkler out with both hands; a bald man at right in orange robes and rudraksha beads holds another. A man in white dhoti and shawl with bare upper body stands between them lighting a sparkler. A few other figures stand in the background near the doorway. A small concrete step and stone border sit beside the path.2011-10-26Night photo of a Diwali celebration with fireworks at AadiKailaasa. Fountain-like fireworks spray bright yellow and red sparks and smoke in the centre of an open dirt ground. At right, a man in a long-sleeved saffron/orange robe and matching dhoti holds a lit sparkler and walks past the blast. A black stone Nandi bull, garlanded with yellow and purple flowers, sits on a white pedestal at the left edge. Other figures in orange and white clothing stand in the background near low buildings, and scattered firework debris covers the ground.2008-10-27Night photograph of a sandy open ground where a bright fountain-style firework or sparkler display throws showers of white sparks upward, with smoke drifting through the scene. A person in orange clothing crouches at the base of the sparks, tending the display, while two standing figures in dark clothing and a lighter-robed person with a white garment watch from the sides. Small scattered objects and a few lit items are on the ground. Low buildings with lit windows and a parked vehicle sit in the dark background.2013-11-17October 30 20162016-10-30October 30 20162016-10-30
