Overhead photo of a food offering laid out on a woven mat on a concrete floor, arranged on brass plates and steel vessels. Brass plates hold a ring of red cherry tomatoes, a heap of yellow lemons, green beans and pods, a mix of sliced vegetables and green chillies, and golden fried fritters. Steel pots contain a brown dish of cooked vegetables, a white curd or yogurt preparation with green herbs, and a yellow dal or vegetable curry in a steel bowl. Ripe bananas sit on a brass plate at the top. No people are visible. The layout suggests a prasadam or annadan food offering.2011-11-10December 16 20102010-12-16September 03 20082008-09-03Close-up photograph of a metal offering plate on a red cloth, heaped with bananas, red apples, oranges, pomegranates and a pear-like fruit. A green leaf with dark raisins or dried fruit sits among the fruit, and a mound of yellow flowers lies in the lower foreground. Sliced-open oranges fill a brass plate at right. A folded white cloth with gold border rests at centre beside a small bowl of red kumkum powder and bangles. Behind, a brass oil lamp with a tall stem and a brass kalasha-style vessel with netted cover stand near heaps of yellow powder and a decorated pineapple-like piece. No people are visible.2010-10-15November 17 20172017-11-17A photograph of offerings on a cloth-covered table: a large brass plate heaped with small green bananas in the centre, with brass plates of oranges, red apples, small brown fruits, and halved coconuts beside it. Scattered flower petals decorate the food.2006-10-31Overhead photo of an offering arrangement laid on a grey stone-tiled floor. Many round silver-rimmed steel plates hold fresh fruit: bananas, pomegranates, grapes, a pineapple, lemons and green limes, plus sweets, nuts, dried fruit, puffed snacks and a mound of white sugar. Small bowls of yellow turmeric powder and spices sit among them. No people or deity murti are visible; the setting suggests a puja offering arrangement.2008-09-03A still-life of ritual offerings arranged on a red cloth: bunches of ripe bananas on a brass tray, green limes in a shallow dish, a brass bowl heaped with yellow marigold flowers, and a brass plate of orange fruit. A white cloth with gold borders folded beside a small bowl of red kumkum, and round brown sweets or laddus on a plate at left.
