Outdoor photo on bare reddish-brown earth with white chalk kolam designs. A young man with long dark hair, wearing a flowing saffron-orange robe and a gold necklace of ornate beads, stands barefoot and raises two orange ropes overhead toward a tall flagpole on the right, apparently hoisting or adjusting it. An older man in a white dhoti with a gold-coloured shawl and a bead necklace helps hold the ropes beside him. At left, a figure in orange robes stands with palms pressed together in namaste. A large green peepal-type tree and other shrubs fill the background under an overcast sky.

Outdoor flag-hoisting ceremony (dwajarohanam) under green trees. A figure in an orange-saffron robe and orange turban, wearing a white and red flower garland and a gold pendant, pulls the rope of an orange flag up a tall white pole with both hands, looking upward. Above him a multicoloured canopy umbrella with tassels is held by an attendant. To the left, a man in orange holds his palms together in prayer beside men in white dhotis. On the right, a woman in a white and yellow sari holds a tray of rose petals, next to a man in orange robes. Several men in white clothes raise their hands and clap, and a few others stand among the crowd.

Outdoor flagpole hoisting ceremony at an ashram under green trees. A central man in an orange turban and orange robes, wearing a white and magenta flower garland, pulls a rope to raise an orange flag up a white pole. A multicolored fringed umbrella is held above him. Two men in orange robes stand to the left and right, and a crowd of devotees in white dhotis and white clothing stands behind, several with hands folded. Petals and flower offerings lie on a ring of bricks at the pole's base. The central figure's identity is not established by visible cues here, so no identification is made.

Outdoor flag-hoisting ceremony at a KAILASA centre. A man in a saffron-orange turban, orange upper cloth and orange dhoti, with a red-and-white jasmine garland, reaches up to pull a yellow rope that raises a white flagpole. Several men in white dhotis and shirts crowd around, some reaching to help with the rope. On the right, an attendant in orange robes holds a brass aarti lamp with a lit flame and flower offerings, while a man in maroon clothing holds incense smoke nearby. Green shade netting, flowering shrubs and a white building with a tiled roof form the background.

Outdoor photo of a dwajarohanam-style flag-hoisting ceremony beside a tall white flagpole set in red earth with scattered flower petals and a ring of brick around its base. A central figure in saffron robes and an orange turban wears a white and magenta flower garland and a beaded necklace, holding a brass vessel and offering while standing with eyes lowered. To the left, a shaved-headed young man in orange robes with hands joined in namaskar stands near a multicoloured fringed umbrella held over the central figure. To the right, another man in orange robes carries a tray of flowers. Around them, men and women in white dhotis and saris, many with hands joined in prayer, stand under green trees.

Outdoor photo of a flag-hoisting ceremony under a tree-lined sky. In the foreground a man with long dark hair, wearing an orange saffron cloth draped over his shoulder and a rudraksha mala, pulls a white rope upward while gazing skyward. Beside him another man in orange robes and a rudraksha mala hauls the second rope. Behind them a smiling man in orange clothing and a bystander in yellow stand among onlookers, and a white platform holds flower petals at the lower left.

Outdoor ceremony at a tall white flagpole with a saffron cloth bundle being hoisted on a rope. A person in orange robes and an orange head wrap, wearing a white and pink flower garland, raises both hands to the rope under a multicoloured fringed parasol held by an attendant. Beside them stand a shaven-headed attendant in orange robes with hands raised in prayer and another attendant in orange with hands clasped. Behind them about a dozen devotees in white dhotis and shirts stand with palms pressed together. Mango-tree foliage fills the background, and rose petals and a small kolam-like pattern of bricks surround the flagpole base. The orange-robed figure in the centre has a distinctive garland and head wrap; appearance alone is not sufficient to establish identity.

Outdoor photo of a long-haired man in an orange saffron garment, wrapped at the shoulder and waist, with a white and red flower garland around his neck, reaching up to pull a yellow rope attached to a tall white flagpole mounted on a white concrete base scattered with pink flower petals. Above him is a thatched bamboo roof with small purple and red pennants strung along it. Behind is a tree-lined area and a red-tiled building. At left, a woman in a cream sari stands watching, and a partly visible person in white is at the bottom edge. The scene appears to be a flag-hoisting at an inauguration, with a flagpole raising rather than a generic ritual.
