A large seated gathering of devotees fills a hall, with a dense crowd of white-clad attendees filling the background rows. In the foreground, a line of young sannyasi-style monks in saffron-orange robes with red sashes sit cross-legged on mats, wearing white sacred ash lines on their foreheads and rudraksha malas around their necks, many with arms raised and palms pressed together or lifted in devotion. Brass vessels and small offering dishes with white flower petals sit on the floor in front of them. A man in the centre wears a saffron shawl over a white garment and a sacred-thread-like mala. Pressing of palms and raised hands convey a collective devotional gesture during a satsang-style gathering.2013-09-15October 11 20142014-10-11January 23 20132013-01-23October 15 20132013-10-15September 14 20142014-09-14A seated group of young monks and adult sannyasis in saffron-orange robes with rudraksha malas and white vibhuti stripes across their foreheads sit cross-legged on a light mat in a bright hall. Many have shaved heads; some hold small brass items and offering plates before them. Behind them, folded maroon mats are stacked against the wall. On the right, a man in a white kurta wears a long rudraksha mala and sits with hands folded, appearing to take part in the group's sitting. Water bottles and a fan are visible at the edges. No clear a person candidate can be confirmed from appearance, so the figures are described by role only.2014-10-11Photo of a seated satsang in a hall with peach walls and ceiling lights.
