The tower is covered in painted and sculpted figures of deities and mythic beings in layered tiers of colour, with white and blue-green painted bands. Below, a flat-roofed entrance hall with a painted red and cream facade stands in front of the gateway. A few small dark shapes are visible in the sky above the tower. No people are clearly visible, and no a person candidate is present.2012-05-31May 29 20122012-05-29May 16 20122012-05-16Exterior view of a South Indian temple gopuram, a tall tiered gateway tower with painted sculptural figures, topped with a kalasha, rising above a crowded entrance. Several people in white dhotis and shirts stand and walk at the gate, and a uniformed figure in khaki stands to the right beside a small roadside shop. Simple low houses and a road edge frame the scene under a bright sky. The image appears to be a small, low-resolution still from a temple visit.2012-05-16May 09 20122012-05-09May 16 20122012-05-16August 20 20122012-08-20 +1 copiesMay 31 20122012-05-31 +1 copiesA photograph of a large South Indian Hindu temple gopuram, a tiered tower covered in white and grey carved sculptures, seen through a colourful gateway with painted arched niches, pillared pavilion and decorative cornices. Small painted deity figures stand in the niches and a relief panel sits above the entrance. A rocky hill rises behind the temple under a pale blue sky, and wooden scaffolding and a tall metal pole stand at the right edge. No people are visible.2006-09-23February 07 20172017-02-07
