His hair is pulled back into a bun and his eyes are closed in meditation, hands held together at his waist. Behind him, out of focus, a black deity murti draped in yellow cloth and red-and-white flower garlands sits within a white arched shrine framed by a yellow curtain, with trees in the background.2011-11-25A man in an orange shawl and orange garment stands at right in profile, hands pressed together in anjali mudra, head slightly bowed, with a topknot of hair. Before him, under a white carved stone arch framed by green cloth, is a black stone deity murti draped in a yellow cloth, seated on a dark pedestal. Red flower offerings are piled at the base, and trees with sunlit foliage fill the background. The figure's appearance is not clearly distinctive enough to confirm an identity, so he is described by role as a devotee.2011-12-28July 24 20052005-07-24Night photograph at an outdoor shrine beside a gold-framed arch. A black stone deity murti wearing an orange turban, a sparkling silver-and-jewelled chest ornament, and red-white-green flower garlands stands behind the central figure. A man with long swept-back hair, a white tilak, orange ochre robes, red and white garlands and gold bangles holds a bundle of green leaves over a glass vessel. A bald man in orange robes stands at left beside him, and another bald man in orange robes with a white tilak stands at right near a second garlanded deity. Bright lamplight and dark foliage surround them.2012-06-03June 03 20122012-06-03 +1 copiesA photograph inside a room decorated for worship, showing a black stone deity murti seated beneath a large gilded arch. The murti wears a gold crown, a silver-and-gold necklace, a sacred thread, and holds a golden staff and a gold ornament, with a garland of red, yellow, orange and white flowers draped across it. In the foreground, a person in a white dhoti and shawl with dark hair is bent forward, facing the murti. Beside them stands a man in an orange-saffron robe with long dark hair and a red tilak, his hand near the murti. A brass oil lamp with a bird-shaped finial stands on the right, next to a vase of orange and pink flowers.2007-04-18A photograph inside a temple shrine. An elderly man with a shaved head, bare-chested, wears an orange-red dhoti with gold borders, a beaded rudraksha mala and gold armlets, and holds a small vessel while offering to a black deity murti dressed in white and orange cloth with a white jasmine garland and pink flowers. Gold ornate shrine arch surrounds it, with a brass oil lamp burning at right. A younger man in white dhoti with gold border stands with folded hands in a respectful pose. Appearance-based cues on the elder are insufficient to confirm identity, so the role is described as a priest performing puja.2012-05-13A man in an orange saffron shawl stands with palms pressed together in anjali mudra, eyes lowered, in front of a black stone deity murti draped in yellow cloth with a green backdrop, set within a white carved arched shrine niche in an outdoor grove of trees. Red flower offerings lie at the base of the murti. The man has his hair tied up in a knot and is shown from the side in profile, appearing in prayer or darshan. Appearance cues are limited to saffron clothing and a topknot, which are not distinctive enough to confirm identity, so he is described by role as a devotee in prayer.2011-12-28
