Night photograph at an outdoor shrine beside a gold-framed arch. A black stone deity murti wearing an orange turban, a sparkling silver-and-jewelled chest ornament, and red-white-green flower garlands stands behind the central figure. A man with long swept-back hair, a white tilak, orange ochre robes, red and white garlands and gold bangles holds a bundle of green leaves over a glass vessel. A bald man in orange robes stands at left beside him, and another bald man in orange robes with a white tilak stands at right near a second garlanded deity. On the left, a person with long dark hair wears an orange-red wrap and smiles, hands clasped. In the centre, a man in an orange wrap with a ceremonial gold necklace and a rudraksha-style bead pendant stands with hands folded, smiling. On the right, a deity murti is dressed in a jewelled crown and a garland of white, yellow, red and green flowers, with a metal staff visible. Small silver vessels sit on an orange cloth table at the lower centre.A photograph of a shaved-head? No: a person with long swept-back dark hair and a rudraksha-style ceremonial gold necklace stands at left wearing a flowing saffron-orange robe with a white-marked bare upper arm, smiling while holding a small brass lamp and a bell-like ritual vessel near a golden arched doorway. Beside them stands a large black stone deity murti with a crown of yellow and red flowers and a pink blossom at its chest, its attendant figures in shadow. Swamiji (probable): the figure at left shows long hair, an ornate gold necklace and saffron clothing, consistent with the page's identification, performing an aarti or lamp offering before the deity murti.2007-11-09Photo of a ritual scene at a temple-like hall. A man with long, swept-back dark hair wears saffron-orange cloth draped over the shoulder, a rudraksha mala and gold ornaments on the arm and neck, and carries a brass tray or plate with his hands. Beside him, a shaved-headed priest in orange cloth with a gold necklace and tilak stands at the left edge. Behind them is a golden ornate throne-like backdrop, and to the right are deity murtis decorated with garlands of red roses, yellow and white flowers, and silver jewellery. A potted plant and orange wall fill the background.2011-11-29 +1 copiesJune 03 20122012-06-03June 03 20122012-06-03June 03 20122012-06-03A smiling man with long dark hair wears a saffron-orange sleeveless garment and a rudraksha mala of dark beads, standing beside a large decorated deity murti. The murti wears a crown with sparkling silver ornaments, a silver-embroidered maroon garment, and is draped with yellow and green garlands. The man holds a golden staff-like object with both hands, appearing to offer or adjust it. Behind them are colourful painted pillars with floral and elephant motifs. The deity figure appears to be a decorated festival murti, and the scene suggests a temple or devotional setting. Swamiji (probable) is identified by long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and rudraksha beads.2007-11-26February 16 20162016-02-16 +1 copies
