Several adults stand on black granite slabs before the trunk: a man in a white shirt and dark trousers, a woman in a light blue and white sari, a woman in a white salwar-style outfit, and a woman in an orange sari. Two young children stand in the foreground. A man in white clothes stands at the trunk, and a white-robed figure stands near the cave-like opening at the base of the tree. A blue sign reads DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE. Flower petals are scattered on the ground at the lower right. Visible people: about nine.2010-06-30June 06 20142014-06-06February 24 20072007-02-24A large old banyan tree with a thick trunk, many spreading aerial roots hanging down, and dense green leaves. At the base sits a low raised stone platform on a red earth floor, bordered by a curved whitewashed kerb. A yellow, red and purple flower garland hangs on the trunk at left. No people are visible.2010-10-05Outdoor photo beneath a massive old banyan tree with many thick hanging aerial roots and sprawling branches. A crowd of roughly two dozen devotees stands and walks on bare dusty ground. Many wear white dhotis and white saris, while women in red, green and patterned saris are also present. At the right edge, a dark stone or metal deity murti draped in orange cloth sits on a red stone base beside a tall pillar. A man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands near the murti, and a boy in a light shirt stands in the middle distance. Nobody in the scene is clearly identifiable as a person; the seated figure is a murti wrapped in orange cloth.2007-05-04July 07 20102010-07-07 +1 copiesJuly 11 20102010-07-11A large old banyan tree with a dense canopy of spreading branches and many hanging aerial roots forms the main subject. At the base sits a small dark shrine opening within the roots, marked by a garland of yellow, white and purple flowers draped across the trunk. The ground around the trunk is raised with a circular white-painted platform and steps. No people are visible in the scene.2010-01-13 +1 copiesA large, ancient banyan tree with thick grey trunks, sprawling horizontal limbs and countless hanging aerial roots forming a dense curtain around its base. A garland of yellow, red and purple flowers hangs on the left side of the trunk, and the ground around the tree is bare reddish earth enclosed by a low whitewashed stone border. No people are visible in the scene.2010-10-05A large, old banyan tree dominates the frame, with a thick central trunk and many aerial roots hanging down and merging into multiple pillar-like trunks. Wide horizontal limbs spread out to the left and right, covered with green leaves. The ground beneath is reddish-brown earth with a few low white concrete edging blocks. At the lower right edge, a small red-based stone structure and a dark figure partly visible suggest a shrine or deity murti at the tree's base. No people are visible.2008-12-10
