Behind them stands a framed portrait on the wall above, and two decorated pillars with colourful painted panels frame the shrine. In front, a large elaborate fruit arrangement forms a shiva-linga-shaped display in layered rings of bananas, oranges, apples, grapes, carrots and peppers, surrounded by fresh vegetables, pineapple, coconut and brass lamps. The scene suggests a deity murti decorated with a fruit offering.2019-03-06 +1 copiesA photograph of a decorated shrine showing a pair of large painted murti figures seated side by side, a male figure in an orange and red turban and orange dhoti with a white and black beaded necklace, and a female figure in a gold and brown sari with a gold crown and garlands. Both wear white jasmine and yellow flower garlands. Before them is a tall fruit-covered lingam-form arrangement with a strand of fruit, watermelon slices, pineapples, bananas, oranges, sugarcane stalks and a kalasha of offerings. Purple and gold drapes with trident motifs hang behind, and fruit is strung across the ceiling. Stone pillars frame the shrine. These are deity murti, not living people.2007-11-26January 19 20132013-01-19November 10 20112011-11-10June 18 20152015-06-18
