A central fire pit burns with flames, surrounded by yellow and orange marigold garlands and offerings of fruit and bundled sticks. Four men sit on the floor: two on the left in white dhotis, one bare-chested with a green headcloth pouring an offering, and two on the right in white dhotis with white flower garlands, one wearing a green ceremonial cap and the other a white and gold headpiece. Behind them, ornately dressed deity murtis wear flower garlands and gold jewellery against a red curtain, with a brass lamp stand at the left edge.2016-03-27Photo 11734651Photo 11694027 +1 copiesA temple homa or yagna in progress before a gilded shrine with two deity murtis draped in garlands and yellow cloth. A shirtless young priest in white dhoti and yellow silk dhoti with a patterned border pours liquid from a vessel into a fire pit with flames. An older man with glasses and a pink-violet shawl over white clothes stands beside him, leaning in to assist. A seated priest in white dhoti sits at the fire pit, and a man in a green cap and white kurta with a garland stands at right with palms joined. Brass lamps, kalashas, marigold garlands and scattered flower petals fill the foreground.2013-07-18Photo 11734666A temple ritual scene in a richly decorated shrine with gold and pink backdrops. In the centre, deity murtis wearing yellow and orange garments, gold crowns and heavy garlands of red and white flowers sit on a raised dais. A bare-chested elderly priest in a yellow dhoti with a sash stands at left, hands joined in front of him. Seated at right, a man in a white dhoti and white shawl with a grey-white head wrap and a flower garland sits before a small offering table of fruit, flowers and a brass vessel. Tall silver oil lamps with flower garlands frame the scene, and scattered petals and coconuts lie on the marble floor.
