A photograph of a dry, weedy courtyard with a set of wide concrete steps descending into it on the right, littered with scattered debris and plastic. A small open pavilion with a round dome stands at the top behind a low wall, and a white bus is parked beyond. Several people in white and orange clothing stand near the wall at the top of the steps, appearing to be a small group at a site visit. Green trees and a red-tiled roof frame the background.2012-05-22A photograph of an outdoor temple tank area in a South Indian town. A stone stepped ghat leads down from the right to a dry, grassy basin bordered by a low wall with stone finials. On the far right a cylindrical overhead water tank stands on pillars beside a temple wall topped with carved stone figures. A white bus is parked behind the wall, and a small group of about five people stands near the steps and the water tank, one in orange clothing. Palm trees, a lattice radio tower and scattered litter fill the background under a bright hazy sky.2012-05-22July 14 20092009-07-14July 14 20092009-07-14Photo 11731392 +1 copiesA photograph of a large rectangular temple tank with still grey water under a heavily overcast sky. Stone steps descend into the water on the right, and a low stone parapet runs along the foreground. Across the tank stand low cream and red-roofed temple halls, a small shrine structure, and a tall, multi-tiered gopuram tower on the right, flanked by palm trees. No people are visible.2008-10-15A rectangular temple tank with still grey water under heavy overcast clouds. Stone steps and a low concrete wall surround the pool. Behind it stand single-storey buildings with red-tiled roofs and a gopuram-style temple tower rising at right, with palm trees and green foliage. Palm fronds hang in the upper corners of the frame. No people are visible.2008-10-15A wide outdoor photograph of a large green lawn enclosed by a low wall painted in red and white stripes. A small shrine with a red base and a stepped pyramidal roof stands near the wall, and a tall golden gopuram-style temple tower rises behind trees on the right. Scattered people walk and sit on the grass, and a white globe street lamp stands at left under a pale overcast sky.2006-10-23A photograph of a temple tank (pushkarani) with still green water reflecting a tall gopuram tower on the left. A small stone shivalinga-style structure stands in the middle of the water on a platform. Stone colonnaded pavilions with white and red painted pillars line the water's edge, and a white-walled compound extends on the right. A few small figures walk along the stone ghat, including people in orange and white clothing near the right side. The scene is set in an open courtyard under a clear blue sky with trees behind the buildings.2006-11-24March 12 20202020-03-12A photograph of an outdoor construction site where a large rectangular pit with stepped concrete-block walls is being excavated and prepared for a foundation. Several workers stand on the earthen edges and inside the muddy base; one woman in a green skirt and dark top stands at the left edge, while a man in a white shirt and shorts pours or carries material with a bucket, and women in saris and head cloths stand near the pit. Scattered rubble, piled dirt, a green tree, and utility poles fill the flat, dusty landscape.2008-11-19Black-and-white photograph of an overgrown yard beside whitewashed monastery buildings, with a tall gopuram tower rising behind the roofline. A thin dirt path winds through tall grass and shrubs toward stone steps at right, and a small tree stands in the foreground. A single standing man in a light shirt and dark trousers is at far left near a low wall, partly visible. Weathered walls, small windows and a bench suggest an older temple-monastery compound.
