A large ancient stone gopuram temple tower wrapped in bamboo scaffolding stands in an open dusty courtyard. Its tiers are carved with sculpted figures, and a doorway at its base leads inside. In front, a man in a white shirt and lungi walks across the ground while a woman in a red sari and another figure in white pass nearby. A saffron-clad figure stands near the entrance. Parked at left are an orange KARPAGA bus, a blue Swaraj tractor and a white van; at right stand a silver car and a white minibus. Small shrines with domed roofs sit beside the gate and a bare tree and green foliage frame the scene.

A large stone gopuram of a South Indian temple, its tiers covered in sculpted figures and wrapped in bamboo scaffolding for restoration. A tall stone entrance leads into the shrine, and a few devotees in white dhotis and saris stand near the entrance. A small domed structure with a red-and-white trim sits at the right, and bicycles, a tractor and a parked car are visible in the street. Several electric poles and leafy trees frame the scene under an overcast sky.

A large stone gopuram, a tiered temple gateway tower of carved grey-brown stone, stands wrapped in bamboo scaffolding under a pale sky. Sculpted figures and niches decorate its tiers, with a dark entrance arch at the base leading toward a small shrine structure with a domed top. Several people walk in the dirt courtyard in front: a man in a white dhoti and shirt, a man in a striped lungi, a woman in a green sari, and a man on a bicycle. A man sits on a motorcycle at the left edge.

A street scene in front of a large South Indian temple gopuram under bamboo scaffolding for restoration, its tiered stone tower carved with figures and topped with finials. Two uniformed police officers in khaki shirts and trousers walk down the dusty road, one carrying a bag. On the right, several men in white dhotis and shirts stand near parked motorcycles and a white-and-orange bus, and a woman in a white sari walks in the centre. Trees, a water tank and shophouses frame the scene under an overcast sky.

At the base, a wide gateway leads inside, where a stone lamp stand is visible. Several people are at the entrance: a bare-chested older man in a dhoti stands at right, two men in white dhotis and a woman in a red sari and white top walk near the gate, and a man in white stands nearby.

A tall stone gateway tower, a gopuram, rises in tiers of carved sculpture and niches, wrapped in bamboo scaffolding for repair work. A central passage leads through the arched entrance toward a distant shrine. At the base, a white-clad man walks in toward the gate, a figure in white and orange garments follows, and an older man in white stands at the left edge while another in a yellow shirt and lungi stands at the right with a bicycle. A small ornate silver palanquin or shrine is visible within the passage. No candidate for a person is visibly identifiable from appearance, so the depiction is of a temple architecture scene.

A photograph of a large Dravidian temple gopuram covered in carved sculptures and wrapped in bamboo scaffolding, with a tall ornate tower rising behind. In the foreground, a line of people walks along a dirt path: a man in saffron robes and long hair leads, followed by others in orange and saffron clothing, a khaki-uniformed official in the middle, and men in white dhotis and shirts. A man in a white shirt walks at the left edge, and a motorcycle is parked near the left.

A photograph of a temple gateway tower (gopuram) with a tall, tiered, ornately sculpted facade rising over a street. Two or three small figures stand near the base of the gopuram on the road. A street with low buildings lines the left side, and trees and a roadside sign are visible on the right. The scene reads as an everyday town street in front of a South Indian temple, with no ritual activity, meditation, or Swamiji depiction visible.
