May 31 20122012-05-31A bare-chested priest in a white dhoti with a gold-edged cloth over his shoulder stands at left, holding a brass plate with a lit flame toward a deity murti in a glass-walled shrine. The central murti wears a tall gold crown, a red and white garment, and a large jeweled necklace. Two flanking figures are draped in dark brown-gold and green-gold saris. A yellow-gold cloth covers the altar, where brass vessels, green bananas, a coconut and small fruits are arranged. The priest's back is toward the camera and his face is not clearly visible, so no identification is made. The shrine has mirrored panels and decorative colored glass. This is an aarti being performed before the murti.2012-05-31A priest stands with his back partly to the camera in a mirrored shrine, bare-chested and wearing a white dhoti with a gold border, a red thread on his wrist, and a brass plate held out in his right hand. Before him on a gold-draped table stands a decorated deity murti with a tall gold crown, a red garland and jewelled adornments, flanked by two figures in green and brown-and-gold saris. Brass pots, a coconut, bananas and fruit lie on the table in front. Mirror panels and a painted ceiling frame the shrine; the scene reads as puja or aarti.2012-05-31May 31 20122012-05-31May 31 20122012-05-31June 14 20142014-06-14Photo 82915192022-09-28 +1 copiesKAILASA SAN JOSE, USA on 9/28/20222022-09-28 +1 copiesPhoto 99225022022-10-02 +1 copiesA photograph inside a temple shrine. Flanking the central figure are two female deity murtis in green and red-gold saris with silver crowns, the group seated before a peacock-feather patterned backdrop. Brass oil lamps hang from above, and bananas, yellow flowers and a brass bowl rest on the altar tray below.2022-01-17A shirtless priest in a white dhoti performs aarti with a lit lamp and holds a brass bell in a shrine with a gold-framed arch behind three deity murtis draped in garlands. In front, a blue silk-draped stone form is garlanded with white and orange flowers, with bananas, a plate of offerings, a small oil lamp and a brass tumbler on the floor.
