A bare-chested priest in white dhoti with a yellow-and-green shawl and red sash holds a brass tray with a lit flame at right. Beside the lamp stand a seated lantern and garlands of marigolds and roses. At left, a figure with long swept-back hair and an orange-saffron robe with gold necklaces stands with palms pressed together in namaskar, with other saffron-robed and white-clad devotees behind. A man in a striped white shirt also presses palms in prayer, and a woman in a white sari with red border stands nearby. Ritual aarti or puja in progress.2012-04-05November 14 20132013-11-14December 30 20072007-12-30Inside a temple hall with stone pillars and fluorescent lights, a priest in a dark red-brown dhoti and shawl, with a bare torso, holds a lit flame over a tray in front of him while others stand around in white dhotis, some with yellow and red borders. Several bare-chested men stand with hands folded in namaskar. Trays of banana leaves, coconut-topped kalasha-style vessels, and pink and white flower petals cover the floor. An orange-clad attendant holds a long staff at right. This appears to be a puja or aarti in a temple setting.2018-04-29Photo 11680990 +1 copiesA night-time photograph of a group of men in white ritual dhotis and shawls gathered under a corrugated roof, holding their hands together in prayer or reaching toward a lit oil lamp. A man in an orange-saffron garment with a tall ornate crown, a gold-beaded necklace and rudraksha-style beads holds the brass lamp with a bright flame, passing it among devotees; smoke rises above the flame. Several men wear white dhotis with sandalwood or vibhuti marks on their foreheads and rudraksha malas. The setting suggests a lamp-lighting ritual, possibly a Kartheekai Deepam aarti.2010-11-21Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Devalaya +1 copiesKailasa Paramparagatha Arunagiri Yogishwara Adi Arunachala Sarvajnapeetha SamrajyamPhoto 11716833 +1 copies
